Sexual harassment

I brought this up because of the O'Reilly case.

I don't think this is something he started doing in his sixties, he must have left a trail of complaints, some investigated and some swept under the carpet. Harassment is bad financially for businesses and it also affects morale. Just think about coming to work everyday and hearing comments that you don't want to hear.

Look, I understand that in some cases, something could have been said once and it was not appreciated, in that case, just back off and not repeat it. Harassment is an everyday activity and could lower morale, if that is what you have to look forward to, everyday.

I think men that do this type of stuff are cowards and should be punished.

By the way, I'm not against a man "doing his thing" if it's consensual.

If you try a thing and it works, then it's consensual.

If you try a thing and it doesn't work, then it's harassment.

Knowing that it's (only) a 50% chance of it working, should we continue to try a thing?

You missed this part.

I don't think women have a problem with that, the problem is when it is repeated.

Also, it's a big problem when the person doing the harassing is your boss or someone influential in the company. Do you rebuff them and risk losing your job? That is the dilemNa women face.

Sexual harassment should not be debatable! Laws and rules were implemented in the workplace to stamp out this behavior! It must me respected, no ifs, ands or buts! This has been in existence for at least 25/30yrs now!

I most cases, it's stupid and unnecessary. If a woman is interested in you, you'll know it, if she is not sending you signals, she is probably not interested. In some cases, it's the woman doing the harassing.

Leh me tell allyuh dat self worth and indifference to the outcome matter.

I told more than a few colleagues that if they didn't mind their wives knowing about an affair with me bring it on. I'd also tell dem that if they couldn't do what they claimed they could all of Kingston would know.

Those are the two best ways to prevent sexual harassment - trust me. lol lol

But, when you're rich and powerful like Roger Ailes and Bill O'Reilly the wives generally stand by their men! wink

That might be true, but the man doesn't know how she is going to react. If he is a repeat offender, it could be the "last straw".

Fox knew this was going on, their reaction was to pay off the accuser.
