0.3 Zaheer to Hayden, THATS OUT!! Caught
Zaheer to Hayden, out Caught by Dhoni!! Length delivery on the off, pitched up on the corridor of uncertainty and shapes away at the last moment, Hayden pushes forward getting a thick outside edge, ends safely in the lap of the keeper, little hardwork with the appeal to convince Rauf, finally the dreaded finger goes up, Hayden goes for a blob, big big wicket for the Indians, B'lore erupts!

In reply to Narper
Who got Ponting?
Rauf or de odder one?
In reply to goofballs
Rauf gave him out
But remember Koertzen didn't give him a plumb one very early in he innings
2 bad decisions for OZ
payback time it seems
Clark punches Kumble for 4
Why Kumble bowling now anyway???
In reply to Narper
Just tuning in....
Rank long hops, warming up Clarke?
RBS, isn't that one going down?
Slow Death strikes!
254/4
What's with all these LBW decisions against OZ? They surely miss Bucknor.
In reply to Narper
which one was that?? the one he let go?? that was goin over the top...wasn't plumb at all...
89.2 Zaheer to Clarke, THATS OUT!! Lbw!!
Zaheer to Clarke, out Lbw!! Just about pitches in line with the stumps, Clarke gets forward to defend, plays down the wrong line, misses and rapped on the pads, big appeal and the finger goes up, that would have crashed into the middle and leg stump! vital wicket at the stroke of stumps...
Clarke lbw b Zaheer 11(27) [4s-2]
Day 1: Stumps
Aus: 254/4 (89.2 Ovs)
MEK Hussey 46* (115b 5x4)
In reply to Catsanus
which one was that?? the one he let go?? that was goin over the top...wasn't plumb at all...
Ball was hitting the top of the stumps....TV comms said Pontee was lucky there since he didn't offer a shot
Even day for both teams
Why was referral system not accepted by India for this series??
One Lankan series was enuff...
In reply to bugz
That wicket in the last over of the day evened things up
But great knock from Ponting
It was a blessing for him to come in after only 3 balls in the innings....he didn't have to deal with the spinners very early in his innings....however Ishant Sharma gave him a torrid time....but like true great he weathered the storm and scored a ton for his team....leading from the front....one could see the determination on his face
In reply to prasad
One Lankan series was enuff
You getting stale wid this now
Cricinfo
In reply to Narper Lucky start of the series fro Punter. Good knock nevertheless
In reply to prasad
If they had the referral system, OZ would probably have put up a 200-run opening stand and game done.
In reply to anandgb
the thing is....only Hussey is left....no Symonds to come
The pitch is flat
And de Indian Fab 4....Tendy, Ganguly, Dravid and Laxman have much to prove....not even mentioning what bald head Sehwag and Dhoni would want to do
In reply to Narper
Watch Haddin get into the runs tomorrow. Then there is Shane Watson who had a magical run in the IPL and should know conditions pretty well and White. Plus, Johnson and Lee are no rabbits. Am not expecting much from the Fab 3. Laxman and Sehwag will definitely get into the runs and that will decide this match.
In reply to Narper
I don't give a fuk what the comms said...it was goin over the top...haha...so if the comms say it it's right is it??
Good knock from Dubya. But he needed to stay there to protect our fragile middle order from the mighty Indian twin-pace, twin-spin attack. As for Kumble, geez the bloke would appeal for wides left alone.
I heard Haydunce was thiefed out. Any word on whether or not OZ will threaten to call off the tour?
In reply to OZGOD
I can't believe they're stayin...Punter was robbed as well...this is a conspiracy...India are cheats...
In reply to OZGOD
mate, how can you call hados, "haydunce"? hados has served OZ's cricket like a real servant mate. you should show him some more respect.
thank you,
jc
In reply to Narper
narps, hope to see u behind the wheel tonight. anandji, keep the commentary coming. should be a good day's play.
anyways narps, you think ishant had punters out lbw when he leave alone that inswinger?
In reply to Narper Hussey and Haddin are dangerous. If they get Hussey early, then it good be a good advantage
In reply to jcveletta Have to go to bed early. I have to leave at :30 am to go to Manhattan
In reply to anandgb

In reply to Narper
500+ sure. if india gets bowl out early, there may be calls for premature retirement. these guys are giving up too many singles. i am amazed that the coach is not even telling them that they are fielding too deep. rubbish!
Zaheer Khan looks like ah Mexican bandit but he wasn't robbing nobody, beautiful bowling. How things have changed with Australia taking almost 2 days and still cyar mek 500.Go India you can bat fuh 2 days too.Australia playing fuh ah draw.
sehwag's on fyah...cop that stuey...4 more...
Australia 430
India 55-0
Gambhir 19*
V Sehwag 31* (5x4)
Aussies with their defensive fields look like a pale shadow of the teams of the past.
What's up with that single saving field, mate?
In reply to Surya
its the only way to go against Sehwag...it would frustrate him...he wants to hit 4's...he's too good...set attacking fields to him and he'll murder you...
In reply to Surya
see that tigah...now he's tryin to open the face and hit 4's to third man cos there's a sweeper at extra cover...
Go on Viru!
you could put 9 men on the boundary and he'd still hit 4's...this cat aint human...
In reply to Catsanus
But , not better than Gayle, mate!
In reply to Surya
how many 6's has Sehwag hit?? if Gayle was 43 he'd have at least 2 sixes...I rest my case...you can't put fieldsmen in row N...
that'll be it for the day...358 to go Viru...
In reply to Surya
You got any audio
Game seem to be hading for a draw
Stumps - Day 2
Australia 430
India 68/0 (18.1 ov)
India trail by 362 runs with 10 wickets remaining in the 1st innings
G Gambhir 20* (55b 3x4)
V Sehwag 43* (54b 7x4
In reply to bugz
3 days to go
This game will have a result
India must get a sizeable 1st innings lead...they have to bat last....and the pitch will give variable bounce
It will prolly be a draw...their may be a few draws in this series cos both sides have strong batting lineups and fairly ordinary bowling attacks...
Sehwag and Harbhajan are key for me. Ishant and Zak make the back-up. Australia rarely collapses in the first innings...it is the second they do the spectacular.
If India go 100 up, then match over for Australia for the pitch is already fizzing.
The last match here against Pakistan, Kumble almost won it.
Sehwag has regained his confidence
Now OZ will face his blade
In two blinks Sehwag approaches a double...and den triple
If only Gayle can rekindle his confidence....but now he is burdened with cappoship
Sehwag and Gayle are not dissimilar in style...how can one explain Sehwag with a 50+ test average and Gayle a below 40 average? team...and team's batting strength....only reason
India can allow Sehwag to always play his natural game....because there are Dravid, Tendy, Laxman, and ganguly to follow
as of right now. aus is still in control. its up to india to chnage that
In reply to Narper Viru doubling up tonight.
In reply to krishna
I don't agree....match even so far
1st innings 430 on this pitch is not enough....and India have already blunted OZ attack without loss.
I expect India to overtake this total by the end of today's play (3rd day)
In reply to Narper
good evening mr. narps. looking forward for an all nighter mate. god day's play ahead.
In reply to Narper Early start tonite?
In reply to jcveletta

1 billion people behind him
In reply to Narper

In reply to anandgb

He says not a bad pitch to bat on
In reply to Narper

In reply to Narper
gambo playing across the line..he needs to be discipline for tha.
Lee to Gambhir, out Lbw!! Excellent line from round the wicket, angling into the left hander, Gambhir comes on the frontfoot and looks to flick it away, early into the shot, the ball keeps coming in, has him rapped on the pads and he was a dead duck, pace and accuracy rocks for Australia!!!

In reply to Narper
he's been intense his whole career...why would he change now??
This is a different kind of intensity
This one looks like a pressure to make runs...to prove he is still good enough
He lacks confidence
SEhwag goes to a stupid shot
Wide ball...he goes for it
Great catch by Haydoes
22.6 Johnson to Sehwag, OUT, oh thats a silly shot! Johnson bowls it full and wide, perhaps a touch slower, Sehwag stands rooted to his feet and reaches out for it, chopping it off the outer edge straight into the bucket hands of Hayden at slip, talk about throwing it away

In reply to goofballs Bad time when the 2 old maestro at the wicket
In reply to anandgb
testing time for the batsmen
OZ keeping the pressure on
In reply to Narper
difficult wicket to bat on mate.
In reply to jcveletta Yes teh bounce is uneven and it is getting worse. We may still see a result here
TenD gawn for 13
28.4 Johnson to Tendulkar, OUT, and Tendulkar just chips the ball to White at short cover! Johnson rolls his finger of a slower one, pitching it full and Tendulkar is deceived into pushing the ball t the man brought in to that position the over before after he drove four through the covers, a massive wicket
SR Tendulkar c White b Johnson 13 (18b 3x4 0x6) SR: 72.22

32.6 Johnson to Laxman, OUT, Well done Mitch! on the off stump, fuller than good length, seaming away a touch, Laxman is tentative, pokes at it, and edges it to Haddin, who gets it on the full this time. Laxman is gone for a 12-ball duck, and Johnson is proving very difficult with the variable bounce
In reply to Narper Not a clue VVS.
Dada Ganguly comes in
No pressure on him
MG Johnson 12-3-40-3
Start of today's play ...MG Johnson 4-0-23-0

Flashed hard
37.2 Watson to Ganguly, (no ball) FOUR, uppish cut here, don't think he heard the no-ball call before going for it, but it was wide and he flashed hard at it, the thickish edge goes wide of second slip
Weh all dem birds come from?
Beautiful off side shot again....pulled back on de boundary
dem two ole rass only run two
37.3 Watson to Ganguly, 2 runs, vintage Ganguly there, opens the face just a bit, sqaure drive finds the gap between gully and point who are standing almost next to each other. Hussey dives desperately to save the boundary, and the batsmen have taken two only. Vintage Ganguly again
In reply to Narper Yes, it was well timed too. Dada mean to show em their mistake
44444444444444444444444444 Dravid off Clark

narps, kumble is a real ...... for a captain. why the heck did he send vvs when it is clear that they need a left and right combo to break the rhythm of the OZ bowlers?
he is simple too defense as a skipper. it is time for him to retire peacefully mate.

dravid out.. atleast he got 50, well played under the circumstances
49.5 Watson to Dravid, OUT, Dravid is not happy at all, this one swung in, looked pretty plumb, but was mighty close to the inside edge. The bat hit the pad just before the all three - bat, ball and pad - came in close proximity to each other. Rauf lifted his finger right away, but Dravid looked disappointed. The replays suggested it might just have been pad first

dravid becoming more and more demonstrative these days?? btw, was that a dodgy decision?? some one who has seen it live?? and what was the ponting issue, heard he was caught and bowled by kumble, but indicated it was a bump ball. the umpire took the batsman's word?? now why would you believe ponting (any batsman for that matter, but especially ponting, who is the not the most honest guy out there). btw. who any action be taken against ponting for misleading the umpires?
In reply to brians_da_best
that was not out. if you give that out, then punters and huss should have been given out.
In reply to jcveletta ok.. and what about the ponting issue?? did u see that?
Thats gangs....none of the other 3 in big 4 can do that
In reply to nsriniv
u up late mate? bad batting by the indians.
Johnson to Ganguly, OUT, and he's given him! Johnson gets Ganguly with one that pitches outside off stump and comes back in to rap the front flap, it looks to be marginally outside and Asad Rauf has a thought before adjudging it out ... the break in play has done Ganguly in

I hope you are using 'waggonist' to mean one who starts wagons....and not how yardies use the word
In reply to Narper
yo breadren, you are the official driver of the thread, hence the word "waggonist." sorry mann, i did not use the term in the yardie sense. my sincerest apology bro. no worries! tek it easy and enjoy a fightback by VVS and Gangu tonight.
In reply to jcveletta
the deck's playin too well...will be a draw...
In reply to Catsanus
bro, punters need to set this up. if he declares at 300 we have a game on. but then there is the vicious sewag factor. if he gets going the game is over by tea.
In reply to jcveletta
It seems to me that Ponting is going to bat India out of the match, and still have a go at them. Look for him to try to push the lead to anywhere from 325+ and still have a go. I think he will try to bat 1 session, and have an all out go at the Indians.
In reply to jcveletta
aus shoulda showed more urgency last night...Katich fuked around then they were blockin kumble out at the end...I spose if anyone can score quick on that deck its sehwag but 260 is a fair target on that deck...difficult to dominate but I guess Sehwag will score quick on anything...
In reply to Catsanus
325+ will set a bad precedence for the rest of teh series. it shows that punters is afraid of the indian top order. 300 will be bold. batting a session out will be negative.
In reply to Catsanus
well, it is the last test for Jumbo. he will retire after tonight.
In reply to jcveletta
jumbo?? as in Ganguly yeah?? good I hope he retires...get ythe great Yuvraj Singh in that middle order...

In reply to Narper Ball moving
In reply to goofballs
Hmm I thought that it at least gives him enough time to bowl out the opposition. To improve that option he leaves India a glimmer of hope. He wants to keep them interested but he is not going to throw the game. Most teams tend to play it safe I like the Aussies they are aggressive and go for the win

In reply to Babylon They shouldda batted faster yesterday if they really were aggressive.
Who goes after 300 at a run a minute on a fifth day track.
If wicket bad, dem can be bowled out.
Caution first should be the batsmen mantra.
In reply to goofballs
Australia's job is not to make it easy for India bro. Theirs is to win the game. If India wanted to stay in it they should have attacked more Kumble was way too defensive yesterday
Dropped by Haddin !!!!!

In reply to Babylon Nah, if Australia wanted to win they shouldda batted faster so they couldda declared earlier giving their bowlers more time than just five hours to bowl out India.

In reply to Narper
yes, will be hard; but, dravid and sewag gave their wickets away. mate, will you flick or play across on a slow track? they have played too much cricket to get out like the way the did. i am sorry, but that kind of shot selection is unacceptable. higher standards is needed.
In reply to jcveletta
Under pressure batsmen make silly mistakes...that is why it is called TEST criket...tests your skill and nerves....this the 5th day of the test...OZ on top....India have to save it...the pressure is great on de Indian bhais....at home on Indian soil
