Trinidadian Darren Bravo doesn't try to emulate Brian Lara, but it's simply genetic.
The dashing 20-year-old Bravo who just made his International debut for the West Indies is actually a cousin of the legendary former West Indies and Trinidad batsman, and his mother wants people to know her son is not trying to copy Brian.
"Brian's (Lara) mother is my father's sister. So we are first cousins," said Earlene Bravo while speaking in an interview on the Line & Length Network.

It's not so much the way young Bravo bats but his mannerisms that so much reminds me of the GREATEST man.
Looking at the way he leans on his bat when at the non-strikers end, with the the knuckles of the other hand at his waist is a splitting image of the GREATEST.

In reply to Kurt And he play the ball so late, just like the great man did. He also a very good fielder.I expect him to take over from shiv.Barath and him to carry west indies into the distant future with braithwaite to come when gayle retired.

Yup, his shots through the point area do bear a striking resemblance to Lara, but Lara had the extra flourish with the writs at the end of the shot.
His push off the pads to fine-leg also reminded me of how Lara did it in the later stages of his career.

In reply to Samwells Who lara took to england when west indies play england lords?
Barath and not young bravo.Does this tell you something,i think lara must have seen something in barath that he as become his mentor.Barath says he talk to him alot about his batting.
