Sanya takes it in 49.23 from Shericka Williams

Quow from T&T sporting a black green and gold necklace takes the male 400m lol in 45.18

NHu 2009-07-03 14:30:04

Isinbayeva makes you look forward to watching the pole vault. Is it just me or have track outfits taken on beach volleyball proportions?

jamgirl 2009-07-03 14:37:51

In reply to NHu

it's not just you...they've been trending in that direction.

NHu 2009-07-03 14:44:44

Bekele takes the 5000 meters in 13.04...sprints the last lap in 53 seconds...gets handed a bottle of water after the race and throws it away without taking a sip. Runs over to his supporters and gets mobbed while being draped in the red gold and green flag of Ethiopia.

Dem African yah no jester with dem long distance. The man looks like he's just ready to run.

NHu 2009-07-03 14:47:55

Cherry (USA) takes the 100m hurdles ahead of Foster-Hilton.

NHu 2009-07-03 15:10:55

100m men on the track now. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh Asafa looks loose...just did a harlem shuffle to rass. A when since Asafa start dance before race???
lol lol

Powell (10.07), Bailey (10.07) Antigua, Frater (10.08 )

Asafa looked ordinary...poor start, decent acceleration, clock gazing and nonchalance at the tape.

Look bro, if you not healthy to deliver stay de fact home. Once you line up at the start no excuses aite.

He had big chat last week, when ppl were saying they're surprised he did sub-10 at the trials based on his form and injury and he was very dismissive, time to put up or STFU.

JahJah 2009-07-03 15:23:58

Easy for Kerron in 10.99

PS: What kinda running style dat Baptiste have? Hobbling along. Guess it wukking fuh she.

RoyalDad 2009-07-03 15:30:29

In reply to jamgirl So what were u expecting him to run Jammy? The man has run sub 100 49 times an u all still dogging the man. Yes,talk is cheap, but u can clearly see that he was toying with the comp even with a bad start.

jamgirl 2009-07-03 15:32:19

In reply to RoyalDad

Clearly you watching another race or yuh eyesight need help. Asafa struggled for the win.

RoyalDad 2009-07-03 15:35:17

In reply to jamgirl Cause he had the field beat. When was the last time Frater stiff Powell's behind? Come on now. Building up to World Champs and doing it prudently.

jamgirl 2009-07-03 15:40:49

In reply to RoyalDad

Ok hold your perspective, I saw a different race. You dont toy with the opposition and you and the 2nd place end up with the same time. The commies were even saying they would like to see the photo finish.

NHu 2009-07-03 15:51:28

In reply to jamgirl If I didn't know you better I would think Asafa stuck a finger in the plum pudding lol lol

Cut the youth some slack Jammie...he seems out of sorts, but his coach says he will run through it.

I like the fact that he is out there running and not hiding behind his coach's ample derriere.

That was pretty much my sentiments up to last weekend, cos he was coming back from injury.

Lo and behold come national champs home boy saying ppl been chatting off they mouth and he's out to

put some masking tape on it with his running. Never mnd dat the facter laboured behind Mike Rodgers

and get his ass beat twice.

Since he puffing up his chest, no sympathies in this corner.

NHu 2009-07-03 16:02:04

In reply to jamgirl Lawd missis...easy nuh. lol lol You starting to worry me now yuh nuh. Safa ran an ordinary race, but he has been inconsistent all season...let's see what he does next week.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH...Royal Dad should stick to horse racing. lol lol

After the race Asafa had that "deer caught in the headlights" look. I get the sense that he has lost his desire for the sport.

Joshua 2009-07-03 16:37:29

In reply to NHu

apparently his desire for miss coca cola is at its peak!

Did Safa turn you down for a date or something? It seems kinda personal the way you go at him.

Ma, you taking it a bit too serious. Don't let Safa cause you to pop a blood vessel. It's only a sport, not life or death cool

You're the one taking it serious and making assumptions.

Like I tell Nhu before, i'm mellow. I just enjoy watching him have to make excuses for his sub par

perfromances time and again. I'm curoius which excuse he has lined up for next week.

TdotW 2009-07-03 19:44:36

And you're just so certain that he's gonna lose aren't you?

LMAO....Did he lose when he made the comments below?

"I was not strong enough today. Bad start, my legs were heavy. I tried just to win. But it is going step by step. Next races in Lausanne and Rome."

TdotW 2009-07-03 19:58:06

In reply to jamgirl

See with me, its never that serious for me to lose sleep. Sports are what they are, you win or you lose. I move on either way.

What you and others seem to overlook, is the fact that Asafa and all other high profile athletes are always going to have a mic in their face and questions asked. They in turn, provide answers. Whether or not you like or accept those answers is totally up to you.
