“I think that it's shameful that the president has neglected African American people, and the constituencies of Black America and it's even more tragic that Black people won't be critical of him and won't demand, out of self respect and dignity of their individual and collective identities, for this president to respond to their call of responsibility,” said Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, a scholar, author, early supporter and Obama surrogate speaker.
During the Democratic primary, Dr. Dyson backed Mr. Obama while his wife was a vocal supporter of then-presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Saw this coming since the election season.

In an interview prior to the State of the Union address, Dr. Marc Lamont Hill, an associate professor of education at Columbia University, said Blacks had been deprived in special circumstances and needed special help to undo harm inflicted over several centuries.
“I would argue that I don't expect him to be the president just for Black people but he can't be the president for everybody else except Black people either,” said Dr. Hill.
“We had a whole presidential campaign that was committed to targeting the middle class at the expense of poor people, so he's made decisions at certain moments to identify other people. He made a commitment to protecting the state of Israel. He's said nothing's off the table to protect Israel. So he's identified the interests of an even smaller group of American people, the Jews, than Black Americans. I'm not suggesting or saying that he's doing anything wrong by protecting other Americans. I'm saying that we can't be the only group of people who he can't touch, whose name he can't say.”
I asked a year and half ago, I'll ask it again- "how many blacks need to be thrown under the bus to help the O-Man?"

i seen dr mark lamont hill on fox ...he too pleasant and mild mannered to really bring home his points strongly..i have never seen his get testy... but he is very knowledgable

Obama ain't neglected no black people. I hear that they're giving out record numbers of food stamps. But any constituency that votes for one party to the tune of 99-1 is going to be taken for granted. As I told you before, the favoured minority status of blacks is coming to an end. Hispanics are going to push allyuh aside numerically, politically and economically.

you don't know shit about America. a lot of Hispanic are mix with blacks. most of them grow up in black neighborhoods. if any one on this forum knows Paterson new jersey would know what am talking about. nowadays sometimeS you cant even differentiate between African America, Dominicans , Puerto Rican a lot of them are black.there is even a growing population that are mix black and white. the only population in trouble is white population they have the lowest fertility rate and a lot of white women are marring black men so you don't know shit. blacks will always be around, whites are slowly dissolving. this Pueto Rican youth told me straight up, he is black. i ask him why, he say he grow up around black people and so he always associate him self with blacks. you also see more Latinos gravitate to black culture than white culture.

In future, those are going to be Hispanic neighbourhoods. So it'll be more a question of blacks integrating with Hispanics or relocating back to the Deep South or other population strongholds. I'm not sure how blacks will respond to the challenge of learning Spanish, as many of them are still struggling with English.

They'll be gravitating toward their own cultures. What's so special about rap music and ebonics that you think people want to aspire to?

JasonX is right...The hispanic issue is one of disposition. Some hispanics are predisposed to align themselves with blacks. Others self-identify with the "mainstream" white culture. It is really only the mestizo Latinos that offer themselves as distinct.

America and England is two different country you fool. you are trying to use a certain percentage of African Americans to generalize a hole population about struggling with English . 
. have you every been to Atlanta?, have you ever been to Baldwin hills in LA?... and a lot more rich African American city. white people only like to show stereotype image of another race to downgrade them, so themselves could look good. they do this to Latinos not only blacks. and they are getting scared because they know they are going to become the minority. there are also a lot of influx of Haitians and Nigerians and west Indians to expand the black and Latino population. if you see a Cuban you would think they are directly from Africa because they are also black . black population can never die it will only expand even into other race.

But you've got a friend in Jesus who don't speak Spanish, so let's discount the vast majority who do.
When you consider that the Hispanic population in America is forecast to rise to over 100 million by 2050, the trend away from bilingualism and toward assimilation is hardly one to be expected. Indeed, there will probably be large areas where English will be the second language. Good luck to black residents trying to find work in Hispanic businesses - and that's even if they can speak Spanish. The rest can forget it.

90% of Hispanics in America are Mexican. Mexicans are not mainly African or European or Asian. Studies show that, on a range of societal measures (education, crime, legitimacy rates, etc.), Hispanics score worse than whites but better than blacks.
America, becoming the Third World. By 2050, of course, the current American welfare system will have long gone bust.

shit head i never voted, but i will vote in 2012. and yes he made a difference. i attend Rutgers University and also work full time. There was a lot of tax deducted from my check.Has soon as he step in office tax was cut and so i had more money to spend, i remember when i got the letter from my job. he is also making college more easier to attend with more money pump into students loan and financial Aid.If he could get health care pass, it would be good because every year my health care goes up. America got the worst health insurance policy. i am not looking for hands out i just hope America get the right programs in to help some people who work hard and still cant afford health insurance. But there are racist with attitude like you who are saying no and trying to block every thing even to develop a modern rail system. if it was Obama alone a lot of these things would have pass already. But when you have duns around like Sarah Palin who thought Africa was a country not a continent, and write notes in her hands, China, India, Brazil South Africa is rising and will fly pass these fools. its now a poss white period and if white people don't think its important for infrastructural development, health care, energy efficiency, climate change and only think that you could freeze spending to grow an economy then they will be surpass by the growing new economies. freezing spending and have an health care policy that rise your deficit will only destroy your economy. when you are spending in an economy you have to spend it on things that will change the life of the people and that's what Obama is doing. but when Bush was spending 30 billion a month in Iraq no one saying any thing and because Obama say he will withdraw the troops they them call him weak, these white people are a bunch of fools.
