West Indies Players Association

The West Indies players are claiming West Indies Players Association CEO/ president Wavell Hinds has quoted parts of the February WIPA AGM minutes which do not give an accurate picture of under what conditions players were prepared to accept the loss of revenue from image rights and other sponsorship fees.
A letter obtained by the Daily Express dated yesterday, addressed to Hinds and WIPA and signed by Dwayne Bravo on behalf of the players currently on duty in India, reiterated that the positions Hinds detailed in his October 8 letter in response to the players’ previous two letters dated October 3 and October 8, “are not in keeping with the stance taken by the players and which we would have expected to be conveyed not only at your meetings with the WICB but in your response of October 8 copied to all players and copied to the media.”
The letter said from a review of the minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on February 1, 2014 “ only excerpts of those minutes were quoted or referred to that may have given one impression which the whole extract of a comment or of the minutes would have given clarity. “
“The players here in India believe that the comments referred to should be placed in their whole context and do so now. Additionally, comments attributed to me at the meeting were my personal views then and still remains that way .” Bravo said.
