HUNGRY JAGUARS CHARGE ATTACK HURRICANES

NORTH SOUND, Antigua, CMC – Guyana Jaguars put themselves in position to continue their winning run in the WICB Professional Cricket League when they manhandled Leeward Islands Hurricanes on the first day of their sixth round contest here Friday.

Opting to bowl first, Jaguars bundled out the hosts for 139 and had reached 14 without loss in reply, at the close at the Vivian Richards Cricket Ground.

BOBB SPINS VOLCANOES TO EARLY ADVANTAGE

ARNOS VALE, St Vincent, CMC – Test batsman Jermaine Blackwood narrowly missed out on his fourth first class hundred and Jamaica Franchise made little use of his effort, as they collapsed to hand the advantage to Windward Islands Volcanoes on the opening day of their sixth round clash here Friday.

Opting to bat first at Arnos Vale Stadium, Jamaica were dismissed for 204, with the right-handed Blackwood striking 96.

DOWRICH, CHASE DOMINATE T&T RED FORCE

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – Wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich extended his rich vein of form with another half-century as Barbados Pride emerged with the better of exchanges on the opening day of their clash with arch-rivals Trinidad and Tobago Red Force here Friday.

The right-hander finished the day unbeaten on 83 as Pride closed on 246 for four after they were sent in at Kensington Oval in good batting conditions, in their sixth round contest of the WICB Professional Cricket League.
