The Leeward Islands Cricket Association (LICA) is close to finalising a deal with the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), that could see the regional financial institution funding the board’s youth cricket programmes.

This is according to President of LICA, Auckland Hector, who said the sub-regional cricket association is in the process of putting a number of documents together.

“That, as far as they have indicated, is on stream. At least, they have given us an indication, in principle, that the funding would be made available to us. There are some things we ought to do before we are able to access the funds from them. One of them is the presentation of a business plan and details of our financial statements,” he said.

Hector, who was elected in December of 2014 as president of LICA, said the final piece of documentation should be submitted at the end of July.
