Red Force vs Scorpions

Opening batsman, Jeremy Solozano marked his return to the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force with an unbeaten half-century against the Jamaica Scorpions on the first day’s play of the round three West Indies Cricket Board Regional Four-Day match on Friday at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port-of-Spain.

The left-hand batsman finished the day’s play unbeaten on 69 with Steven Katwaroo not out on 13 as the Red Force closed on 145 for five. Jamaican seamer Dave Bernard Jr. tormented the Red Force batsmen, finishing with figures of three for 25 from 14 overs.

Jaguars vs Pride

On a truncated day in which 250 minutes and 40 overs were lost due to rain at Providence, Guyana Jaguars Skipper Leon Johnson stroked an unbeaten 73 to lead his team to 170-2 from 50 overs against the Barbados Pride on the opening day of their third round WICB PCL four-day cricket match yesterday.

The 28-year-old left-handed Johnson stroked nine fours and two fours in his 24th First-Class fifty from 119 balls, 222 minutes and added 79 with Assad Fudadin, who made 42 from 94 balls, 136 minutes with four fours and an unbeaten 60-run stand with his Vice-Captain Vishaul Singh, who was still there when bad light stopped at 16:45 hrs not out on 30 from 59 balls, 131 minutes with two fours.

Volcanoes vs Hurricanes

ROSEAU, Dominica, CMC -Windward Islands Volcanoes are leading Leeward Islands Hurricanes by 80 runs in an intriguing opening day of their third round match in the Regional First Class Championship at Windsor Park here on Friday.

Volcanoes are 104 for the loss of five wickets after Hurricanes, in a surprising turn of events, declared at 24 for seven in their first innings before the lunch interval.
