BASSETERRE, St Kitts, CMC – Leg-spinner Imran Tahir’s record seven-wicket haul and Hashim Amla’s 23rd One-Day International hundred, were the highlights as South Africa beat West Indies by 139 runs in Match 6 of the Ballr Cup Tri Nation ODI Series on Wednesday night.

In a lopsided affair at Warner Park, South Africa rattled up 343 for four off their 50 overs, with Amla stroking a superb 110 off 99 deliveries and Faf du Plessis, with 73 not out, and Quinton de Kock, 71, hammering contrasting half-centuries.

Slow medium bowler Kieron Pollard was the most successful bowler with two for 64.

In reply, West Indies were bundled out for 204 off 38 overs with Johnson Charles smashing a top score of 49 from 41 balls, in a 69-run first wicket stand with Andre Fletcher who made 21.

However, once they were separated, Imran Tahir wrecked the innings with seven for 45 – the best figures by a South African in ODIs and the ninth best in the history of one-day cricket.
