Berridge, Garcia join WI team staff
Two new members have been added to the West Indies team ahead of the Digicel Home Series 2008. Richard Berridge has joined as computer/video analyst and Gerald Garcia as trainer.
Berridge, a 24-year-old from St. Kitts, previously worked as electronic scorer and video screen operator at the Warner Park Ground in St Kitts. He is a former member of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States golf team.
"This is an honour and pleasure for me to work with the West Indies cricket team at the international level. This is something I really wanted to do, and I will give it my best," Berridge said.
Garcia, 52, has been the trainer for the Trinidad and Tobago team since 2004. Before that he worked with the W Connection semi-pro football team and the W Connection Wanderers Cricket Team.
"I am delighted to be given an opportunity to make a contribution to West Indies cricket. I believe that that the right kind of preparation leads to positive results and I aim to do all I can to help," Garcia noted.
The first Digicel Test Match bowls off on Saturday at the National Stadium, Providence. The West Indies will have a training session on Friday morning at Providence.
