COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (CMC) — West Indies off spinner Sunil Narine is among four cricketers shortlisted for the International Cricket Council emerging player of the year award, the ICC announced yesterday.
The 24-year-old Trinidadian who made his test debut in June this year has been named with three other shortlisted nominees — New Zealand's Doug Bracewell, Sri Lanka's Dinesh Chandimal, and Australia's James Pattinson.
In July, Narine claimed a career best haul of 5-27 to bowl the West Indies to a 20-run victory over New Zealand in the fifth and final one-day international at Warner Park.
