Rain forces T&T to settle for runners-up

Georgetown, Guyana, CMC – Rain dealt Trinidad and Tobago a harsh blow here Monday, ruining the final day of their all-important, final round Regional Four-Day contest with Guyana and wrecking their chances of winning the WICB President’s Trophy.

Starting the day needing a victory to overtake Barbados and clinch top honours, T&T were left disappointed after rain allowed just 29 overs, forcing a dreaded stalemate at the Guyana National Stadium.

Jamaica ease into semis

Slow bowlers John Campbell and Nikita Miller shared seven wickets as they bowled Jamaica into the semi-finals of the Regional Four-Day Championship, with a 59-run victory over the Combined Campuses & Colleges here yesterday.

Part-time off-spinner Campbell ended with the flattering figures of four for 17 from eight overs, and champion left-arm spinner Miller finished with three for 61 from 27.5 overs, as the CCC were dismissed for 177 in their second innings on the final day of the seventh-round match.
