An unbeaten 62 from West Indies player and Barbados Skipper wcShaquana Quintyne powered her team to a second consecutive victory by beating Guyana by 49 runs on day two of the WICB Regional Women’s t20 cricket tournament at Providence yesterday.
A five-wicket haul by Jamaican left-arm spinner Shanel Daley and an unbeaten 35 from Skipper Stafanie Tailor, who took her aggregate to 97 runs, fired Jamaica to emphatic eight-wicket win over the Leewards in the opening game.
In the night match T&T made 134 for 4 off 20 overs with Brittany Cooper top scoring with 51 and Merissa Aguilleira supported with 50. Akeria Peters had 3 for 36 for the Windwards who could only reach 66 in 18.3 overs. Juliana Nero top scored with 10. Shayelle Lord, Anisa Mohamed and Karishna Ramharack took two wickets each for T&T to hand them a 73 runs victory.
Player-of-the-Match, 20-year-old Quintyne reached the ropes twice and cleared it two times in her attractive knock which lasted 43 balls. She got support from Kycia Knight (29) and Shamilia Connell (19) as the Bajans galloped to 140-6 from 20 overs.
