Former Guyana and West Indies captain Carl Hooper will play another year of county cricket with Lancashire.

Hooper agreed to a one-year extension with Lancashire to be the country's second overseas player alongside Australia's Stuart Law. The off-spinner all-rounder who once played for Kent, scored 1,118 runs (avg. 65.76) in 13 county championship games this season.

Hooper, who was a late replacement for injured Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh, also picked up 30 wickets at 29.00 per.

He was also a key part of Lancashire's promotion to Division One next year. In 16 NCL division two matches, Hooper scored 597 at a whopping 74.62 average. He also picked up 14 wickets at 27.07 per.

"It will be great to have him back. "He was brilliant for us on and off the field," Lancashire captain Warren Hegg told a British newspaper.
