Warm-up Win for Windies U-19s

The West Indies Under 19 are celebrating their first win on their brief tour of Sri Lanka before they move on to Bangladesh for the ICC Under 19 World Cup next month.
Playing in a warm up match ahead of four 'ODIs' against the Sri Lanka Under 17s at the Moors Sports Club, the West Indies Under 19 won the toss, decided to bat first and posted a reasonable total of 260 for eight off of their allotment of overs.
According to information released by the WICB, the young Windies got good starts from their top order, no one carried on to make any big score. Sri Lanka Under 17 in reply were dismissed for 217.
The West Indies Under 19s got solid performances in the batting department from Tishan Maraj (45), Xavier Marshall (41), Jonathan Augustus (38), Liam Sebastian (30) and captain Denesh Ramdin (25).
In the bowling department Zamol Khan (2/18), Barrington Yearwood (2/43) and Lionel Baker (2/63) led the way.
