Ganga Sparkles with Unbeaten 139
Sat, Jul 13, '02
West Indies 'A' team opener Darren Ganga joined the run-scoring
party in England, hitting a cultured unbeaten 139 as the tourists
took an unbeatable lead against Lancashire at Liverpool.
At the end of the third day's play, the West Indies 'A' reached 361
for five, a lead of 451 with one day to go, thanks to Ganga's first
century of the tour, which counted 14 fours and a six.
He put on an opening stand of 149 with Test opener Chris Gayle,
who continued his fine form with a typical swashbuckling innings of
94 (131 balls, 17 fours). Right-handed middle order bat Runako
Morton included six fours and two sixes in an 89-ball 53.
