...Another Man would not have bowled Bravo tonight...Not Darren Sammy...Sammy made a pre match statement;' This has never been about one Man but about West Indies Cricket'.

That is why I admire Darren Sammy...
In reply to voiceofreason
Tit for tat or talent?
Man I could not have done it, Sammy is better than me in that respect
Fellas. This is professional sport not curry goat. It would have been unprofessional and childish for Sammy to do as wunnuh suggest

Yet faz was saying it will be intriguing
is Bravo normally first change bowler?
Sammy will always be remembered for being a classy person, that was one of the reasons why he held on to the captaincy for a while, his leadership qualities were above that of the other people available.
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
Maybe so but this is West Indies Cricket where anything goes. Do not be so naive.

Is this the mother of all anti-climaxes?
Or is it a testimony of/to $ammy's West Indies career?
Anyway, I'm truly disappointed that $ammy's Farewell game had to end this way, a no result.

Don't mek mi laff. Washed out is a perfect end.

A sad way to say farewell to Scammy in West Indies colors.

Ouch!!!
Sammy did nothing wrong to warrant the wrath of posters here. The selectors choose him, and he just filled the role...allrounder and skipper. Perhaps if the other players were qualified, according to the selctors, they would have been captain instead.

Did the selectors select him based on performance or was his selection based on other factors ? I think you will find your answer on why people despise him if you answer truthfully.

He told me he wanted to be a "soccer star," but wouldn't say much else, probably because his teammates were hovering around him. But later on, when I asked the coach who the strongest player was, he pointed out this boy. "We made him captain," the coach explained, "Because he takes it the most seriously. If we lose, he won't talk for the rest of the day. He always shows up early to practice. If we're not around, he organizes the team and has them ready when we arrive. And if anyone loses their temper during the game, he'll reprimand them and tell them to just focus on winning."

Samantha Shank I love the fact that all his qualities that lead him to be captain had nothing to do with his talent in the sport, more about his attitude about the sport.

Ppl don't despise Sammy unless you take the small fringe element of Expat fans on here, most of whom haven't watched a game in the Caribbean for years, as the majority.
Which brings us to why you, a self proclaimed SA fan would want to spend time working out who doesn't like who in WI cricket and not why someone with a shade darker than Hansie Cronje captaining SA is an event.
Maybe when someone of the hue of Darren Sammy can captain SA you will be able to use despise in the correct context.
