Always touting his wares. Always.
Its actually pretty isht seeing an old cat like that always positioning himself for work and judging every WI coach implicitly based on whether they used his services or followed his creed.
Sad.

He and Hillary.
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
Rudi in his own league.
In reply to Commie
True Hillary has backed off or was backed off
In reply to Commie
That notwithstanding he speaks some truths
In reply to sudden
But Rudi's time has gone. You think these guys would listen to him?
In reply to sudden
Of course, but denigrating coaches like Gibson and Dyson simply because they did not use his approach is petty.
In reply to Commie
Das de problem with alyuh Caribbean....Big fish litte pond syndrome....
In reply to Commie
Reminds me of Dukes. Stuck in an old paradigm but can defend it adequately. Nevertheless I have time for Rudi and will listen to him. I just filter out the odd jab at those Rudi don't agree with.
In reply to sudden
Someone should ask Rudi when was the last time he had his methods empirically tested through rigorous research. He's a great story-teller though. Wonderful after dinner speaker...
In reply to Larr Pullo
Didn't he work with the Indian team recently?
In reply to sudden
They seem to be giving up as quickly as ever....so maybe his work is not complete.
In reply to Larr Pullo
lol
come up with de sample.
In reply to Larr Pullo... well lets look back at Rudi's stint with the West Indies team to England Captained by Jimmy Adams.
West Indies won the first test handsomely. Rudi was sent home ... it took CHG to win a test match against a team ranked above us since that time away from home.
In reply to natty_forever
didn't he get some work/hush money another time since then?
In reply to camos.. he worked with the then 'Academy'. Not sure what it was.
He was on TV, news or something? Where is the link?
In reply to Yamfoot
Interview with Scrossy.
Should be on YouTube soon if not already.
In reply to Commie
Ok. I dont have Sportsmax
In reply to Yamfoot
Check youtube to see if its up.
In reply to natty_forever
Thank you... That is my recollection too. West Indies started on its downward path (again) when they let him go.
The first time was when they dropped Denis Waight (at Lara's command).

In reply to Ewart... yup.
In reply to Commie
i read the man's last book...
the whole thing was basically a bookfomercial... a few good concepts and then it seems like if u want to see how it really works call Rudi.
... ok, forget Rudi ... question: would a sports psychologist help West Indies cricket?
In reply to natty_forever
WI cricket needs a lot of help in many places.
While a sports psych may help those in the team for a short period of time the same money can be used to reach a brother base of players... say a coaching clinic for the many pelters we have coming up.
In reply to natty_forever
The HPC is the right track.
There is a psychologist but these young guys need way more than someone just trying to get them winning a cricket game.
They need brushing up on their life skills, speaking, learning how to operate in groups etc, dealing with people trying to get them to fix a match etc
Remember, the assumption that many of us make is that cricket is all these prospects have to learn.
In reply to Commie and matchstick... na argue with that ... but I know it works. And especially because our players lack the stuff of which you two speaks of. Mine is a short term fix. Which gives yours time to kick in or should that be bat/bowl/field in.
