Dude, even Simmons scored a double in these type matches, after 20 years, anyone would expect him to score runs.

I've always look at Shiv, like a Joe Solomon, a Larry Gomes or a Gus Loguie.
He just played longer, that's all.

This team has been losing for most of Shiv's career, he is no Michael Jordan, so at forty, it is time for his exit.

OK then. But I personally think that in any line of work it is about performance and anyone who is performing at the highest level in any industry cannot be blamed for the failures of his co-workers and whether he retains employment or not depends on his or her performance.

Shiv is performing at the highest level and. therefore, should be retained until such time that he is no longer performing, or decides to retire, depending which comes first.

With regards to the other players you mentioned above I believe that, based on numbers, Shiv is way above all of them.

Sports is not any line of work, that's why great players get traded or cut.
Jerry Rich had to leave San Fran, in order to play longer, and he was a champion performer.

1) Jerry Rice was replaced because there was someone younger and better

2)If cricket is a business then it should be run like one

Who was the younger and better player, that replace Jerry Rice?
If it was run like a business, Shiv would not stuck at #5

Shiv averages 104 vs Bangladesh. He could play vs them till he is 60.

you really should not make arguments if you do not know what you are talking about...ask some of your friends to help you out...

As a matter of fact if you look at Shiv's numbers at #5 you would keep him there and the manager should be promoted for managing him well...present numbers and do not deal in hypothetical..

based on the numbers maybe you are correct..maybe your other friend on this thread will learn to deal in facts too..smh

I understand his point.

Shiv is way smarter than he is perceived. He knows with a new regime in place his place might be questioned so he talks about mentoring and he plays a friendly game to SHOW Pybus them he is fit and willing.

Take in front before in front take you.

Brilliant psychology but the truth remains he is 40 and whilst the WICB proper have no intention of dropping him, he doesn't want any new direction to exclude him.

I suspect that Shiv will bow out when he achieves the milestones he seeks in terms of being top run scorer.
