1.West Indies vs Zim - National Stadium Grenada 2013 I think
2.Windwards vs Barbados - Progress Park Grenada bout two or three years ago...I honestly think I saw a match last year...but for the life of me I can't remember Windwards vs Who? - I hopeless I know.
3. Windwards vs Trinidad - SVG around 2006 I think.
4. 2007 Grenada - Windies vs RSA
I also saw the final Oz vs Sri Lanka in Bim.
In reply to Cheeks
I shda gone to that final but like a typical homer once WI lost I lost interest. In fact I pretty much switched off that WC after Samuels ran out Lara.
In reply to black
CC MB most ardent WI fan is toying with the idea of accompanying the team to WC 2015 and you are just rewarding him with a lil cookie!! Man, you could have a least offer to pay the man's fare.

Good on you Commie.
If only more of us were in a similar financial position, including having time on our hands, we certainly would've supported our beloved West Indies in tune.
Thank you for humbly representing us all.
In reply to Toney
I wish I was.
Funny...football or basketball fans spend more money on following their teams than an average WI cricket fan can dream of.
In reply to Drapsey
You seem to have PLENTEEEEE time on your hands.....yuh on every thread like a boomsie fly.
Doan blame Commie if does put he money whey he mout is.
In reply to Drapsey
Well considering a gap of 8 years between World Cups, and 2 years between seeing WI play live I'd suggest you need to raise the bar a little for what you consider having time and money
How about answering those questions.
Saying you haven't seen WI play since 1961 isnt a crime you know.
In reply to Commie
Well I did attend WC 2007 with my Indian buddies, but alas, you disqualified that in your opening post.
In reply to Cheeks
As I previously told you, I refuse to apologize for my position in life. This includes my ability to have an opinion on any subject through the ability to articulate such opinion on any forum.

2007 WC was strange.
Like it never happened.
In reply to Commie
West Indies vs Zimbabwe 02 and 3rd March 2013 at North Sound, Antigua.
Leewards vs Windwards in St. Thomas USVI several years ago.
See answer to 1.
Never.
In reply to Commie
The CPL is regional cricket comrade. Therefore it is only natural that I have an interest in it.
Now, what I have stood against is dat wretched IPL. I do follow international T20s and the regional format.
But for me a die-hard cricket fan, T20 cricket is a bit of a robbery. Three hours of cricket is just too short and leaves me wishing there was more to come.
Take it like dis. Say I like chocolate cake and liken it to T20 cricket. Giving me a chocolate cake lover a slice of cake ie T20 just ain't going to satisfy me and make me real happy as compared to if you had given me an entire chocolate cake ie 50 over cricket and Test cricket.
In reply to BatQuake
If you eat the whole cake.....yuh gonna get fat
If yuh sit on your ass for 5 days watching Cricket.....yuh gonna get fat
Why not have ah slice??
In reply to Commie
Wow. Best I come with you or wha?
In reply to black
I'll get too thin with my bones showing.

Somehow I think my drinking, whoring, spliff smoking and dubious company will cause you to backslide or you will try to preach and meet an untimely end..probably before the plane leave the Caribbean.

UK - Old Southampton ground, Canterbury, Oval, Lords, Trent Bridge (my favourite), Headingley, Grace Road.
4. 1999 in England was my first World Cup. Then of course 2007. I made sure I had the time off. Lawks, if these Wondians know how much I have spent on them, they better rise to the top now!
Where is the World Cup? I am out of it. No not planning to go. Saving up for Brazil in 2016 either for Formula 1 or Olympics. Lofty goals!
In reply to Yamfoot
You obviously are part of a narrow elite bourgeois.
So much travel.
That 99 WC was good though that Pak game, surrounded by zillions of Pak fans including their version of Uncle Lester, that bearded old cat who goes mental when boundaries are hit, felt kinda unfair.
BC Pires even did a story on us.
In reply to voiceofreason
Missed out on 2007.
In reply to Yamfoot
......(gasp)...........a cricket fan like you is asking where is the World Cup at this late hour?
Yamfoot, this is frightening.

Best I ring up Tony Abbott now and tell him to be on the alert for you...

I watched a FC game between Jamaica and the Windwards at Alpart in 2005 (or 2006). That was just after Gayle scored his 317 (??) against the Saffies and he made 70+ in that game. Devon Smith scored a ton in that game and looked very good.
In reply to Drapsey
Where is Alpart btw...
kuntry ?
Devon Smith always looked good. From since U19 days.
I remember seeing he, Deonarine, Parchment and Vishal Arjune in the WI U19 team in England and thinking...WI future is bright.
Well WI future ended up blight.
Seen WI play live at the ground in any form of the game.

I had a chance to attend the Oval in what, '03? when the Windies were touring England. My then g-f wanted to fool around instead. I was young and dumb.
Can't believe I haven't seen the WI live since the '07 World Cup. Now that I'm married and have a young-un, opportunities may be even fewer than when I was a bachelor.
In reply to Drapsey
Is that the game that Smith Beat up Darren Powell bad bad? So bad that they left him out of Jamaica's next game even though he was selected for WI.

I used to have close to fist fights with my cousin on the Devon/Parchment who is better debate. Devon was my bet.
Talk about folly.
In reply to Drapsey... you cousin nuh know one raas about cricket. Yes, Devon was a shythound at the senior level, but was a dung heap bully ... Parchment couldn't bully him [beep].
In reply to natty_forever
Not one of these players made it from the U19 WI team.
This despite WI having both the batsman and bowler of the series, Devon Smith and Kenroy Peters.
Sad isht. England got Ian bell, Monty Panesar and James Anderson through.

In reply to Commie.. well I still believe a sports psychologist would have helped. Hitlaire said it, not nicely. Therefore the WICB needs to put things in place to help these youngsters realize their TOTAL POTENTIAL.
In reply to ponderiver
Looks like a whole set of us were scattered in Bristol that day vs Pak.
In reply to natty_forever
WHy does it matter how it was said.
I actually think a PLAN is way more important than some psychologist.
Most U19 players graduate and there is no process through which they get promoted. Kenroy Peters is a case in point because when he came back into WI Cricket, WIndwards had Mclean, Cuffy, Deighton Butler etc all ahead of him and there was no criteria by which he could displace them. It was the WIndwards selectors who had the final say.
WI Selectors have to be asking local boards about players who played for WI at youth level and cannot make their island teams. Inevitably, the guys disappear or lose impetus.
ALot of cricket is about impetus. A guy goes from one level to the other seamlessly getting both playing time and experience, as well as attention from people in the know.
Sideline that guy and they regress quickly.
I wish Pybus luck.

Last saw WI v NZ T20s in Fort Lauderdale in 2012. Saw T&T play CCC at Jarrett Park (Montego Bay) back in 2009 or 2010? Saw 4 WI games in Jamaica and Barbados during WC 2007.
I too am considering going to 2015 WC in Australia. Looking at games in Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra and possibly Auckland. I'm expecting to see several unintentional B game performances from the B-gamers.
In reply to Commie
Travelled down that day on the same train as the pipeman .
I remember Ricardo Powell coming to the crease on debut
He departed just as quickly as he came all know shiv never even looked pon him.
Wasim Akram put some lashes pon Jimmy Adams that day and shoaib was as fast as fork!!!!!!!
One top edge off him by either Ridley or Campbell went like a rocket down to the third man boundary and crashed into the hoardings with the velocity of an exocet.
Managed to grab a few words with Waqar Younis who wasn't selected !!...... Smashing fellow
In reply to ponderiver
That top edge was off Campbell I think.
And Shoaib was literally pushing off the close to the boundary. His pace was scary.
I was in the middle of the Pak section next to their team mascot, that bearded guy who rallies all of them. We held our own until Shiv got out.
That Pak team was something else. Abdul Razzak was just emerging, Saqulain was in full flow. They should have been unstoppable.
I think Pybus was the coach then.
I remember one big deal and that was SHiv batting a foot out of his crease to try to manage the swing. Most batsmen looked scared out there.
In reply to Commie
I have met the bearded guy at the Rose Bowl
true story, on the way to southampton in 2004 my little band of west indian supporters were the subject of much good natured banter by a set of pakistani supporters who outnumbered us by about 10 to 1.
One supporter, to much merriment enquired about the whereabouts of our supporters....... when the laughter subsided, I replied ...they are all at the Oval preparing for the Final........ well it was pandemonium in the place
Nuff backslapping and handshaking., all this before the match had even started.!!
Later on i was introduced to the bearded one because the sound of my bugle as it greeted ever flashing drive by Sarwan became too much to bear.
He was very gracious and we took a few pictures together .... great day that was
incidentally at Bristol I was mostly in the hospitality tent Courtesy of a Gloucestershire connection.
