I concur...Gabriel aint pretty to see running in.

There is some truth to that.

I dont give Shilly any heat cause I think he has a constant , persistent attitude of always attacking the stumps...I respect that.

Daniel was a terror at youth cricket level. He had nuff man runnin in U 19 cricket dem times.

But the real terror from Bim to this day was Sylvester Clarke. Bim produced plenty fast bowlers....but none (Charlie Griffith was before my time) was as downright MEAN AND NASTY as he was.

HERE'S AN INTERESTING ARTICLE ON DANIEL DURING HIS TIME AT MIDDLESEX

“They [Daniel, Butcher, and Slack] were joined in the staff by two other players born in the West Indies — Norman Cowans and Neil Williams — and the whole lot of them always sat together in the dressing-room. We called them the Jackson Five. They spent an inordinate amount of time preening themselves after training, dousing their bodies in creams and lotions.”

The language in which they spoke, however, took a new turn, often involving “the assets of Neolene the lunch waitress”. Few people understood the conversation between the quintet:

“Mnnn, she raggin’ it, her body smooth, her tighs dem luk-sha-ree.”

“Wha’s happenin’, you bin chatting breeze, Raas-ole?”

“Listen up, I ain’t no Raaaas-ole, Bamba Claart.”

In reply to imusic

Both Neil Williams & Wilfred Slack were from SVG . Slack died on a Tour to Africa . Neil Williams died in SVG .

I never met Wilfred Slack , but I did meet Neil Williams , who started an
Academy in SVG for youngsters , that is still operating .

I was reliably informed that Sunil Ambris went to that Academy . In the
5 years I was in SVG , I had conversations with Neil many times , he was a very pleasant person , and was always approachable .

Never mind. Found this on Wikipedia

Originally a celebration signaling the end of the yearly sugar cane harvest, it has since evolved into Barbados' biggest national festival similar to Carnival in Brazil and Trinidad. With the harsh effects of World War II on Barbados, the festival was disbanded. It was later revived in 1974 by local stakeholders including Julian Marryshow, Flora Spencer, Emile Straker, and Livvy Burrowes with the Barbados Tourist Board. With the gradual change, the general schematic of Crop Over began to closely mirror the Trinidad Carnival.

The 80's were good. Gabby and Grynner had big hits in Trini.

Then later on came Square One and what was known as The Bajan Invasion.

In between that...there was a time when Kassav from France (but we all thought they were from Guadeloupe) used to repeatedly sell out the QPO whenever they came to Trini. Think they even forced the relocation of an international match because "Kassav playing"

Nice times
