In response to a question about Gibson's "firing," Jamaica Dave's initial response was, "Look at the record." If the record is the measuring stick, then shouldn't Jamaica Dave and Muirhead be "fired" as well? If not, by what criteria should they be judged?
BTW, Gibson needs to set the record straight concerning his departure from the West Indies setup. Too much misinformation 'bout di place.

Jamaica Dave did said ...
In reply to Walco
And:
"Otis has served us well. He won the T20 world cup".
"We have changed the selectors...and we felt we needed to look at a different head coach".
Obfuscation at its best.
............
Dave, we got the message loud and clear. No amount of diplomatic couching will tell a different story.
Gone Dave. Do your ting.

Did you notice Muirhead started skinning he teet when the question was asked? Muirhead is the same guy who said in an earlier interview that Gibson resigned and the board accepted his resignation.
In reply to Walco
I wouldn't miss that Walco. He skinned it ear to ear.
Boy ah tell you.

What did he say that was wrong?

In reply to cherri
Why do you behave like being fired is a negative thing? People get fired every day or every week.

The question was:
What were the circumstances which led to Otis and the WICB to agree mutually to shorten Otis' contract?
Now can't you see a problem with changing a coach who has a contract which was a fairly one new because you changed your selectors.
The other reasons mentioned can fetch pluses for Otis and do not support the course of action.

Lord......you too....I ased a man a simple question........
In reply to cherri
Cherri could you kindly set the record straight via my PM?
Back to the main topic of this thread. Will Jamaica Dave and Muirhead suffer the same fate as Gibson when the board looks at the record of the WI team since Dave became President. WICB elections coming up early next year. Wish I had the time to calculate the team's record during Dave's presidency compared to prior presidents.
In reply to Walco
I hope the same yardstick used to evaluate Otis is used to evaluate Mae & Dave.
Let the agitation for equity and justice begin now.
A word to Mae and Dave. Your record of stewardship of the WICB should also guide our decision making.
In reply to Courtesy
But you and I know that Dave and Muirhead will not be held accountable for the team's record. The next WICB election will be determined based upon increased per diems, allowances and limits
Oh yeah ... and based upon promises to territories that have more to do with maintaining power than advancing the interests of West Indies cricket. This practice is not unique to Dave though.
In reply to Walco... so is that something new?
See when you don't read a thing to the end.
In reply to Walco
May I remind you that Dr. Hunte was promised and assured of the Presidency.
In the end, the charlatans conspired for thirty pieces of silver.
As you have indicated this practice is not new and this deed can be repeated.
Admin also played his part. The letter under reference is omitted by me.
This letter was leaked to my inbox today by a WICB operative who admitted rather bluntly that the mission is to "get rid" of Julian Hunte. We are in for some interesting times.

In reply to Courtesy... my job does require "prudence at all times" ... If you was a Yaadie I would feel we know each other.

Why you attributing Courtesy's statement to me?
But "did said" is proper cc.com speech. Kinda like "correck is right" and other such. So Spuds will give me a pass
In reply to Walco
Spuds is no fool. He knows how to recognize the vernacular when Courtesy uses it. Spuds would let this fly like water over a ducks back.
In reply to Courtesy
Spuds knows when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em.
