...opposing the WICB on any critical issue which had strangled West Indies cricket over the last ten years.
From what I am hearing, WIPA has agreed to all what WICB had been proposing during the H&H era, including items that went to arbitration and for which there were strikes in the past.
- WIPAMACOL is gone from the table; WIPA had always argued that WIPAMACOL owned the rights of the players and therefore must be involved in any discussion and decision on players' rights. (I have reported on this extensively here in the past).
- No more US$35k a day. Players had been given US$35k/day which was shared among the squad. You will recall that a strike was called by WIPA over this issue.
In the days of internecine war, the WICB paid USD35K/day for home series for commercial activities and USD14k for away tours. From 2009, WIPA contended that the Board pay USD35k for both home and away or else strike.
WIPA has now given this up, which means that players will earn less especially if they are not on contract. The Board has agreed instead to give the Players an increase in Retainer and Match Fees but this increase is not enough to cover the shortfall. So even if WIPA was wrong on the basis of why the USD35k had to be paid, should the players earnings be reduced?
- Scheduling is now in accordance with what WICB had always been saying. WICB had failed to win an arbitration when Judge Jairam ruled in a judgement against the Board and awarded a huge amount. WICB had appealed. I learnt today that WICB did win the appeal although I never heard this in the media.
- WIPA has also given up on the right to be part of deciding who gets retainer contracts. Something Dinas always insisted was necessary.
Oh how things have changed.

It is quite evident that WIPA is no longer...

Wavell join de boys....I miss Dinas....never thought I'd say that.....

Oh what a sell out.
In reply to Larr Pullo
You will say the same about Shiv too....

I think there is more to it...
I think players will "get paid"...
Just have to wait and see. To me, more of mutual "exit strategies" for IPLers. Handling of IPLers is biggest problem.
In reply to Lenks
Lloydie say you cannot have the IPLers in and out of the team at will. He wants a stable team.
So we know where the WICB is going with this.
In reply to Courtesy
There u go go...so WIPA has to come on board to make things mutual...create mutual exit strategy between WICB and players.

No wonder Joshua very quiet these days....I hope a WIPAExpose.com is somewhere around!!!
In reply to WestDem
Joshua was getting his info about WIPA from Ram and Wincric.
Tings doh run from T&T anymore.
It appears that Wavell and de dread have concluded that Joshdoestalkalot.com

They have lost two since. The big one - mother of them all - MOU/CBA is worth 11 of the tiny ones.

Wow. Buh lookuh how far WIPA has fallen

WIPA died when Ramnarine was ousted.

They won the skirmishes but lost the battle
In reply to Admin
We haven't agreed on something in a long time.
I hate to agree with you.
In reply to Admin
Rams used to brag that he better than the lawyers until the MOU/ CBA matter was heard
In reply to Courtesy
No complaints from the players?
In reply to sudden
Indeed, indeed.
I will reveal more on the "before and after WIPA" when I can find the time.
In reply to WestDem
Only a matter of time. Professional cricket will need professional representation.
Exclusivity with regard to WIPA being the sole player representative will soon be a thing of the past.
Plans are afoot to register another players' rep.
In reply to Courtesy
I hope the players vote his arse out and ask Dina to return!!!

Yeah, it used to be no-nonsense coming from him whenever the WICB crosses the line.
Wavell is a lame duck - unlike Ramnarine, he will tow the line with his Jamaican Cameron...
Wavell was never a guy who would stand up and fight...case in point...Marlon Black in Aus at the bar.
The Silver fox probably having a hard time with her labour first movement now that Wavell is in cahoots with lemonade stand Cameron.
In reply to WestDem
You should try for the job

Boy Larr you're sharp. I noticed it but wasn't sure whether it was a trap. So I steered clear.

I thought Ramnarine left on his own free will.

Ah waiting.
Ah still waiting.
Dread, I will be off for a few hours...leaving in the next 15 minutes.
You can always post. I will deal with any issue when I return.
Bachanal.....
In reply to Courtesy
Let's just say that your "facts" aren't 100% factual, leave it at that, and let you continue to revel in your role as the MB "insider".....
History will record which set of administrators was able to get a new agreement signed - which I will assume was actually the goal of the previous set....although you would never have thought so based on their approach toward the players.
The bottom line is that a new agreement has been signed which holds both the players and the board accountable - which can only be a good thing.
That it has happened without the accustomed hullabaloo may not be good for the warring factions on cc.com....but must be good for what is left of West Indies cricket.
In reply to Admin
I beg to differ. WIPA died when the old MOU/CBA was ousted. It's hard to win a gun fight when the other guy shooting live ammo and you shooting blanks.
WIPA has been totally useless since Rams left.
In reply to Andy99... please explain?
In reply to natty_forever
For many cc.com posters WIPA's usefulness is directly related to the level of bacchannal associated with its relationship with the WICB.
In reply to newdread
Mutual I say...going forward.
Soon to be tested.
In reply to Lenks
Lenks?
In reply to natty_forever
Would Ramnarine sit back and allow CCC to be kicked out?
If he was still there, I doubt they(WICB) would've even had the balls to ban Narine.
In reply to BatQuake
Yes, it's me...not done with you and that Corinthians verse...just don't have time.
In reply to Lenks
You haven't got the time eh. But you have time to dedicate silly rastaman song to me in de backroom eh.
I go deal with you.
In reply to newdread
Newdread, ignore the attention seekers.
Hope to be in the yard Monday. Will try and link you
In reply to newdread
OK Dread, a good compromise would be I am 99.9999999% correct. I missed out a letter somewhere.
Dis done.
In reply to newdread
That's why y'all ousted Dinas? Alyuh got tired of the bacchanal?
In reply to Walco
Seconded
Dinas quit when he realized the old MOU really was not intended to go on for infinity.
In reply to Courtesy
Were you really expecting the old pirate to refute anything you said? He usually surfaces with vague pronouncements or conclusory statements, only to disappear when pressed for specifics.
In reply to Walco
No. My record here in revealing and exposing such matters is impeccable.
Many have tried and failed to refute such revelations.
When Courtesy, Larr and Sudden start complaining that WIPA is not representing the players with enough vigour and is agreeing too frequently with the WICB, it reminds me of the Republicans in Florida complaining that Obamacare is failing to meet all its objectives.
Oh what a tangled web we weave, in our effort to deceive.
In reply to Courtesy... so is this a bad thing?
