in New Year

West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) president, Dave Cameron said the search for a new men’s team coach will be done with the greatest of prudence, and does not expect a replacement to be named before the New Year.

Them is real dumb arseholes to fire/release a coach and not to have one in mind to replace him.
It gawn take them 6 months or more to find a coach, like all ah them who looking deaf, dumb and blind thats why it gawn take them so long.

The coach resigned.

They had no plan for that. Ontop of that any coach worth their salt doesnt want to take the role before a tour of India and SA and then a WC and be the scapegoat for what follows.

Makes sense really big grin

Comrade, you ain't see the WICB quietly giving Richardson a chance to try the coaching stint and if he does well in the upcoming Windies tours to India and South Africa, he may very well be officially announced as coach.

By the way, it appears that the West Indies team arrived safely in India.

I think it is a good job to take now. If you do well, you look like a genius. If the team flops, you get a break because you did not have sufficient time to prepare the team. The blame then may fall on the previous coach

Its an interesting theory but not one that has much legs when you look at WI record in India and SA over the last 20 years, their 50 over WC record over the same time span and the personnel.

I'd want more money to deal with that situation.
