Well, he does pelt
In reply to Admin
You are not an expert in bowling actions.
In reply to Emir
He IS an expert in WICBC Presidents tho
In reply to imusic
I told you years ago he does pelt. Nuh true?

Whenever a bowler's action is 'funny', i get suspicious n irate...however, im not going to jump on admin's donkey cart, yet! He, admin had sung that 'tune' sometime ago.
In reply to Emir
So are you saying that the Admin called R..., the Snowden-like wonder, is wrong with his assessment?
In reply to imusic
It just seems so many peeps here who should know better, cannot hide their glee, never mind the absence of Narine can harm WI cricket.
In reply to Admin
Julian?
And yes...you said that long ago.
You also said xavier marshall was the real deal.
The ICC are at sea. They let Narine throw for so long without reprimand people actually believed his action was fine.
Lets see if Ohja and Ashwin get called.
Narine might be history or regular
If you go by the MCC laws of cricket, Narine definitely chucks. His arm straightens during delivery. That is clear as day to anybody who knows cricket and even reasonable eyesight. What is to be determined is if he will contravene the ICC condition of 15degrees.
Tired of the hypocrisy (or ignorance).
Narine fling.
Shillingford fling.
Marlon fling.
Cooper fling.
Nuff other man too.
In reply to Bain
Get rid of the 15 and the problem goes away.
Nothing will be left to interpretation.
In reply to Dan_De_Lyan
Do you mean to call everything or call nothing?
In reply to Bain
Narine fling.
Shillingford fling.
Marlon fling.
Cooper fling.
Nuff other man too.
Is Pollard next?
The ICC should never have bent the rule--Such hypocrisy to be calling the Pelters when you made it legal to cheat--This is such a case where the ICC got it wrong--No sweat just go back to no 15 degree, period!!
In reply to buds & Commie
Murali wouldn't complain!!
It amazes me that no one has even mentioned the possible scenario that can arise.
What??
Allyuh tink nuh!!
Ok...lemme help.
The HUGE question, and most interesting is:::: Will they report Murali in the IPL next year????
THAT is where the shit can really hit the fan.
Best regards!
@RMc@
Wait wait wait a minute....................Commie, doosie, Batty, Lenkie gone kuntry or what??

In reply to TheTrail

In reply to methodic Polly is meh bwoy, but honestly, his deliveries isnt what i would call, proper!!
In reply to BeatDball

In reply to methodic Lmao!
Yup - Polly fling too.
In reply to SpudsMcKenzie
I now seeing dis. Wait nuh, Murali still playing cricket?
I don't pay attention to the IPL so I didn't realize his still playing in it.
Now that's gonna be real interesting if he's actually reported.

Stop irrigating Admin's rass.
In reply to Admin
Since the ICC allowed Muttiah Muralitharan to pelt, they opened the doors.
As far as I am concerned most, if not all of the bowlers in the world today are pelting the odd one.
Let them all pelt. The game is moving more and more towards baseball so what is wrong with one more innovation.

Simple, it's not baseball.
There are rules and those rules should be followed.
If the rules need changing and the changing of the rules will keep the sport as it should be then change them.
Don't change them for changing them sake.

It isn't baseball? Really? Have you seen the stance of many of the 'batters' as they are now called in T20 cricket?
In reply to buds
Yuh don't understand. A committee of three, Gavaskar, Holding and somebody else in the late nineties when the technology became commonplace and cheap looked at Muri's action and then they looked at others.
To their surprise almost every bowler was in breech of the zero straightening rule. If they had kept the zero straightening rule there would be no cricket. That was the start of the 10 degree, 7.5 and 5 degree rule.
The irony was that Muri looked bad but he measured clean, time and time again, in match and in testing conditions, while many others who looked good were in breech.
A later study from 2000-2003 showed that bowling actions that looked normal to the naked eye in many of the world's elite fast bowlers had, on average, 9 degrees of elbow extension during the bowling action. Some recorded elbow extension measuring between 10-15 degrees, yet none of these bowlers had ever had a problem regarding the legality of their bowling action. This testing showed that a zero tolerance threshold, and the tiered thresholds implemented in the late 90's, had no or little scientific merit. The study, conducted by the Australian Institute of Sport Biomechanics department, lead by cricket biomechanist Dr. Marc Portus, involved taking three-dimensional video based biomechanical analyses during tour, test and one-day international matches in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Results from this work indicated that video based measurement error in such a scenario, using best practice methodologies, was 3 degrees. This report was submitted to the ICC in 2003, which instigated the review of the illegal action definition and processes.[7]
The only thing we can safely agree on is that we are not competent to make bowling judgements with the naked eye.

But when a bowler is going almost 3x the already controversial rule of 15 degrees (Ajmal was clocked at 43 degrees) the ICC must do something. There is no doubt that the relaxing of the rule, perhaps a realistic position, as well as the ICC's reluctance to call Muralitharan (he did pelt, you know, on his way to the world record)opened the door for bowlers worldwide to keep pushing the limit.
I was in Guyana this past summer and went to a few friendly games. I saw teenagers practically pelting mango, and no one made an attempt to correct them.
In reply to Headley
I think we need more studies from non cricket playing countries like Russia and China
Them new guys on that ICC bowling action panel naw joke, some them old timers like Ian Chappell, nobody getting spared! Only a matter of time before Ojha is called next. Ashwin action is clean except when he tries to bowl like narine lol
In reply to bobby
there was a indian spinner who had a funny action too...remember my dad talking about him
can't remember the name...i recall that lloyd them played against him?
jaip?
I think they need to tidy the language around some of this stuff. I need a doc to tell me how do you straighten your elbow.

Very much like the glee some felt when Shilly was called.
Many who strongly support Narine now had no sympathy for Shilly or WI cricket then.
