Let me get this right

faada 2014-10-22 11:13:26

1. WIPA sign MOU with WICB to distribute income more evenly among all players
2. Test team in India unhappy with sharing money
3. Test team go on strike over MOU signed by their own representatives.

Is that about it?

Saw him in the supermarket a few days ago, didn't get a chance to ask him about this.

So far as i can tell, it goes something like this....

Wavell and Mikey Dread got elected to run WIPA. They went off and signed an agreement that the players don't like and is possibly counter to what they agreed to in their meetings. So the players decide to penalise the fans, the WICB, and the most powerful entity in cricket.

Everything you posted was correct except that it was the ODI team, not the Test team that took industrial action in India.

faada, how tings? ok you leave out two points: first the players went to India without a contract and second WIPA did not have consensus from its members to act their behalf with regards to the MOU.

I don't fully understand this 'even distribution'. It is the International players who make the money that allows the WICBandits to live the life of luxury.
The so-called First Class players play a few matches per year and maintain their day jobs. They are not subjected to the rigours of a diet and fitness regime like the International players or to injury and possible loss of income.
Bravo and the others have said they have no problem with the first class players earning more but not at the massive loss to the International players. This is logical and fair.
Chrissy has asked for the salaries, and I will add perks, of the WICBandits and staff. Did they take a hit in their salaries and benefits too?

The plan was to put the first class players on retainers so they too can be subjected to the rigours of a diet and fitness regime ensuring that they are better prepared as to be more competitive. You all are always lamenting that our FC players are unprofessional and are ill prepared this was a step in the right direction.

So then why not wait until after the tour to threaten strike action for the South African Tour? This is a lose/lose situation cause if/when BCCI decides to sue, they all lose. If WICB has to pay out 65 million where will they find money yo pay the players?
