Khan turns tables on the Leeward Islands
 
BASSETERRE, St Kitts, CMC – Trinidad and Tobago turned the tables on troubled Leeward Islands, and were closing in on a come-from-behind victory on the penultimate day of their second round clash in the WICB Professional Cricket League here Sunday.

After trailing on first innings, Red Force hit back strongly to bundle out the hosts for 130 in their second innings, and set themselves an uncomplicated victory target of 203 at Warner Park.

At the close, they had reached 95 for two, and were requiring a further 108 to win the contest.

Deonarine fiver undermines Windwards
 

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – Narsingh Deonarine captured the spotlight once again, this time with the ball, producing a five-wicket haul to keep Guyana Jaguars out front on the third day of their second round clash here Sunday.

The Test player, who has struck two centuries in the new-look WICB Professional Cricket League, broke the backbone of Windward Islands Volcanoes’ batting with his part-time off-spin, to send the visitors careening to a disappointing 184 all out.

Securing a lead of 107, Guyana reached the finish on 133 for five – 240 runs ahead going into Monday’s final day at the National Stadium at Providence.

It seems like the players playing this PCL business in the same fashion in which the pro league was created. Very fast and in a hurry. It seems like they want the games to finish quick so that they can't take away the pro league money.
