Spare a thought for Abbott too . . .

Can't imagine how he must be feeling. Will he ever be able to bowl again?

Absolutely. He is suffering morfe than most and he has to live with this accident for the rest of his life.I hope he gets the requisite counselling or else his playing days could be curtailed. All cricketers need some aid here in some way.

He'll need all the support he can get. Something like this can ruin a man, not just his career.

This is such a tragedy. It's going to be a while before the cricketing fraternity moves on. And that includes the fans, commentators and journalists, not just the players.

I hope the young man is able to recover so he can continue with his career, and more importantly, his life.

So true. Maybe Phil Hughes parents may talk to him and convince him that Phil would want him to continue playing. So tragic.

Megan, Phil's sister, spent a lot of time with him in the hospital before Phil's death. It's going to be very difficult for him. His life has changed forever. He killed a close mate of his, although he never meant to, he was just doing his job, but that's going to be extremely hard for him to ever get over.

Some can brush this off and continue and unfortunately some will have a difficult time coping with guilt. Australian cricketers are generally a hard nosed bunch and I suspect he'll be fine in due time.

I was thinking this myself and hoping that Sean is one of those typical australian who is mentally tough, because God knows, he'll need to be to really get to grips with reality after this. I really feel it for him. All those cricketers in Aussie need to rally around him, rally hard! I'm wondering if he'll ever want to play again. To make it worse, if he and Hughes use to get along great, he'll feel it even more. If he plays again, how would he feel bowling another bouncer? Man may relive this scene for sometime.

Bain 2014-11-27 16:55:38

Really do hope he is able to move on from this
