agreement. Why is there a new ODI captain? Holder is not ready.

So what happened to the no vindictiveness
In reply to Chrissy
That is unpreparedness not vindictiveness
Haha
The ring leaders should never play for west indies again.. if i was in charge...
Good riddance of bravo, pollard and sammy.... shamed our region
In reply to Chrissy
What did Dr. Hon. Ralph Gonsalves, the PM of SL&G say when asked the (at the time hypothetical) question on what his reaction would be to Holder being appointed skipper of the WI ODI team?
I figured whatever the WICB agreed upon had little merit. They have shown that they can NOT be trusted numerous times in the past.
For better or worse (and I can't find any better) the WI will proceed without the IPL stars in all non 20/20 formats. While Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Pollard, Dwayne Smith, Sammy, Narine etc all can still contribute to WI competitiveness, the WI will proceed without them. The first Test in SA showed us how well that approach can be expected to succeed. Marlon will escape retribution, as he is viewed as anti-union and special compensation will be given to Russell, but expect the rest to become full-time 20/20 cricketers.
In reply to Kurt
I thought Gayle pulled out and Dar Bravo had personal issues and the others had pressing cricket matters to attend to elsewhere. Didn't know they were dropped for this particular series
In reply to sudden
Gayle pulled out of the Test tour because his back could not take 5 consecutive days play. I am not aware that he made himself unavailable for the shorter games.
Darren Bravo is not one of the IPL stores.
In reply to Chrissy
Treachery should never be rewarded... Johnny Bravo and co must pay for their excessive greed and holding the cricket world to ransome!
In reply to Chrissy
Because Bravo is no good as a leader (captain)
In reply to sudden
Yuh wrong on this one sudden. But maybe I know too much, so I will hush fuh now.
In reply to Chrissy
And this why I have always supported the players going to IPL instead of the regional games. They should have a right to earn income from whatever source they choose because WICB acts arbitrarily too many times.
This is clear retribution against Bravo. But his 20/20 teams will be happy because he brings a lot to those teams. So f--k loyalty to WI cricket. Go where you can make that money Bravo.
In reply to Chrissy
Those Buffoons should never play for WI again--Ramdunce is next after the ass-whooping in SA--A good and legitimate excuse to can his ass!!
What Victimization? None that I can see--
In reply to buds
If West Indies have decided to discard these players because of the india tour man up and say so...judging from the wickets and runs scored by bravo there can be no cricketing reason to drop him.
It's decisions like this that continue the distrust.
With a world cup coming up we are in total disarray being led by a player that has no experience and with an unsettled team. Well done.
In reply to Chrissy
When the appointment of $ammy as captain for 3 years became known, we were all over Hunte and Hilaire for departing from the traditional and accepted method of appointing captains on a per series basis. Now that the successors have reverted to the traditional and accepted method, we're still a weeping and a moaning.
When will we be satisfied, or better, with what and with whom will we be satisfied?
In reply to Drapsey
As I said, at least you are consistent
In reply to Commie
Are you insinuating that Chrissy is not?
I think that she is... as far as Trinis and Jamaican Dave are concerned, anyway.
In reply to Drapsey
I think if Hitler was a Yardie, you'd install a gas chamber in your basement as a show of solidarity.
And mean it.
In reply to Commie
Man, that's low. If I weren't thick skinned maybe I would've cried.
By the way, I went moon-shining last night. It was a blast. Something to boast about because none of my friends ever had the experience.
In reply to Commie
I have one in my basement that heats my house. Does that mean I am a Hitler sympathizer?
In reply to Chrissy
Question: Is Bravo available for the SA tour? Or is he playing Big Bash?
In reply to doublecentury
They did the exact same thing last WC....replaced CHG with Scammy...
...then blame the `seniors` for our early exit.
In reply to Cleg
How did they do in 2003 and in 2007.
In reply to Commie
If you live bythe sword and all of that.
These cricketers have to understand that their actions will dictate their future. Did bravo show leadership skills when he decided to refuse to wait for 4 days to meet with the WICB and WIPA before taking action?
In reply to anandgb
Anand, what has gotten into you? Have you been transformed?
GOOD RIDDANCE!
Take Gayle too!

You think I am a transformer now?
In reply to Kurt
The T&T cricket board has led the way in this vindictiveness ......Look how they treated Dinesh Ramdin ( the WI test cappo) after he returned from India...in the regional 4 day tournament they removed him from T&T capoship and handed it to Emrit...why???? Not sheer vindictiveness
WI cricket will remain dead ....no resurrection in a hurry
In reply to Narper
Is water wet ?
TRUST is a big word that WICB will never earn... There is no surprise that WI players never trust them... Now I understand why did not wait for 4 days to meet the WIPA president and WICB representatives who were in the hiding for 20 days
In reply to anandgb Not a Transformer...You were transformed. Or you are a flip-flopper.
In reply to voiceofreason
Prexactly
In reply to Narper
And that is why the cycle will continue and continue, at all levels they are corrupt.
In reply to Andy99
It was Hooper, Lara, Ambi, Walsh and every senior in 98, Then it was Lara, Sarwan and Gayle in 2004, It was Bravo, Gayle and Sarwan in 2009 and now it is Bravo, Ramdin and Sammy. Just another 2-3 years we will have the next regulars who will be blamed.
In reply to voiceofreason
I am not transformed at all. whatever gave you that impression?
In reply to anandgb
Well, you heard "something" from "someone" who heard that "thing" from somebody else who knows "someone" and you lap it up like gospel.
Now you on an apostolic mission to spread "the word" of something you heard 3rd hand
Not sure if that makes you a transformer.
In reply to Commie
In reply to Chrissy
Look at the bright side..Brabits wont have to worry about being vindictimized anymore..
I have no problem with the so called 'vindictiveness.' I agree their actions in India should not be rewarded. Only in the West Indies we could expect to see players do that and nothing comes out of it.
In reply to imusic
Now you on an apostolic mission to spread "the word" of something you heard 3rd hand
What are you babbling about here?
Whatever I post are my opinions. When I get information and re post it is usually from reliable sources and not 2nd or 3rd hand.
In reply to anandgb
when you hear 'somethings' say 'something'
The players must face the consequences for their actions in India.
The WICB will say they simply dropped them. End of story.
No one can prove nay vindictiveness
In reply to tc1
Exactly
In reply to brians_da_best
No one can prove vindictiveness.....when after the metting in Jamaica in the presence of the same Holder and Russell they promised not to victimize, they also promised to put a written statement in the media speaking to the promise which to this day they have not done..........but these people doan learn, when the snake did pon the highway and begging fuh help they picked him up an offered him help, he turn round and bite them, they asked him how he could do that, he told them, you knew what I was when you picked me up...........the WICB is a board full of petty vindictive people, dare to expect anything different.........
In reply to cherri
You sound bitter sister. Are they more vindictive that the previous board?
In reply to anandgb
No, they're the same. I think it was H&H that sent a complete 2nd string team to the ICC Champions Trophy, to punish them for making themselves unavailable in an earlier series against Bangladesh.
Similar MO by the WICB, so no one should really be surprised this time around.
The Task Force made it clear that the major reason for the aborted India tour was sending the players on tour without a contract and then springing one on them that cut their salaried by 75%. The only "fault" by the players was not waiting 4 days for a meeting with Cameron (despite Cameron having made it clear that he was not there to negotiate).
Finally, the decision to replace Bravo with Holder was made BEFORE the task force report, even if it was only announced afterwards.
WICB is an employer, they hire people that they think bring value to the table!
In reply to XDFIX
Completely WRONG! They hore those who do what they say even if they bring ZERO value. Why? Because, at least in the short term, the money coming into the WICB is not "performance based". They get the same amount regardless of WI results.
In reply to anandgb
NUFF MORE.....NUFF NUFF MORE, because wunna doan hear everything, this Board is the worse in a long time....and it had some bad ones, anyhow, these would only gih yuh indigestion....
In reply to Kurt
