JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – West Indies Cricket Board announced today that left-arm fast bowler Kenroy Peters has been called up as replacement for Kemar Roach on the ongoing three-match Test Series against South Africa.

Roach injured his right ankle while bowling on the first day of the first Test match at SuperSport Park last Wednesday. He will return home to continue his rehabilitation.

Peters, 32, was the leading bowler in the 2014 WICB Regional Four-day Tournament. He has so far taken 190 wickets (average 20.21) in 62 first-class matches.

Finally , " THE INVISIBLE MAN " is being recognized . Etched in my mind is the fact
that some years ago he was tipped to go to South Africa , with the West Indies Team , for his Performances in the Regional Tournament , that was held in Guyana .

While batting for the Windwards to avoid being run out he dove to his crease , and and slightly injured his foot ;the powers immediately declared that he had broken his foot which was a BLATANT LIE . They
then selected a Guyanese Pace Bowler . I
know that it was a LIE , because I saw him , when he returned to SVG , and he was not limping , or in pain .

As I have stated in this Forum , more Cricket is played off the field than on the Field . It is high time this attitude
that prevails in the Region stop .

GOOD LUCK KENROY PETERS , I HAVE NO DOUBT

THAT YOU WILL DO YOUR BEST . I ADMIRE THE

FACT THAT DESPITE ALL THE ATTEMPTS TO

SABOTAGE YOUR CRICKET CAREER YOU HAVE

DISPLAYED GREAT FORTITUDE & COMMITMENT

IN NOT COMPLAINING ; BUT ALWAYS GIVING

YOUR BEST ON THE CRICKET FIELD .

I have absolutely no doubt that others in similar circumstances to yours would have given up a long time ago .

Surprising selection of Peters, but well deserving. So who will be replacing Fudadin?

Can he be the modern day Bradshaw?

First of all it would be very uncharacteristic of the WICB to give me a gift . Its members are only concerned with
staying in the governance of Cricket in the Region FOREVER , NOTHING ELSE MATTERS TO

THEM . THEY ONLY BESTOW GIFTS TO EACH

OTHER.

Let me remind You & Others , who may have
forgotten the following fact :
SOME YEARS AGO A WEST INDIES U-19 TEAM

PLAYED A TEST SERIES VS AN ENGLAND U-19

TEAM IN ENGLAND . AT THE END OF THAT SERIES

KENROY PETERS WAS ADJUDGED TO BE THE BEST

BOWLER . THE BEST BATSMAN WAS DEVON SMITH .

HOWEVER PLAYING IN THAT SERIES WAS A PACE

BOWLER , JAMES ANDERSON , YES THE VERY SAME

JAMES ANDERSON WHO IS NOW A FIXTURE IN THE

ENGLISH TEST TEAM ; OBVIOUSLY THE ECB

HARNESSED ; ENHANCED & HONED HIS TALENTS .

KENROY PETERS RETURNED TO SVG , AND TOILED

IN OBSCURITY FOR YEARS . THIS IS WHY I

BEGAN TO CALL HIM THE INVISIBLE MAN .

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS DONE TO HARNESS ,

ENHANCE & HONE HIS TALENTS .

For many years he has been ill treated by the Windwards Board , his selection on the Windward Islands Team was & is never secure . Now he is getting a chance at freaking age 32 to demonstrate his talents .

I sincerely hope that he does well , I know that he will do his best . Ialso know that there are many here & in the Region hoping that he fails so that they can be very critical of him .

The Emperors will also claim well we gave him a chance . Yea Right at age freaking 32 . If England had treated James Anderson as Peters was treated by the WICB , I doubt anyone would have heard about Anderson .

I am still at a loss why both Devon Smith &
Kenroy Peters were not sent to Overseas Camps like Gayle & Sarwan . Cricket in the Region , in my opinion would have been far better off had that been done .

These days u can't sit on your butt and expect your employer to take care of u.

Ask not wat WICB can do for u but wat u can do for WICB!

I agree with you , perhaps this is why Sammy ; Gayle & Bravo saw the writing on the wall;
and decide that the best course of action is to feather their Nests . I have no problem with that .

One of my main issues is that those in the governance of Cricket in the Region are steeped in 19th. century thinking . They
believe that they are the Masters & the
Players their Servants .

My belief is that this is at the heart of the animosity between both . In my opinion , it is this thinking that has spawned comments about Players cannot speak & cannot read etc .

well deserved. I come out of of hiatus to extend best wishes to a well deserving Kenroy Peters and like POINT I so wish for his success. Embarrassed the incompetent board.

Persistence pays for a man of good character dispite not getting his just dues.

So I am both happy and sad. redface
