HEADLINE: BCCI gives WICB final Tuesday deadline for US$41.97m claim

STATING that it could no longer hold off on its claims for US$41.97 millions in losses from the premature abandonment of the contracted tour of India last October, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) until next Tuesday to respond to its demands for compensation.

In a joint e-mail addressed to WICB president Whycliffe Cameron and Caricom Secretary-General Irwin Laroque on Tuesday, honorary secretary Sanjay Patel warned that if the WICB failed to comply within seven days to the requisitions set out in the original letter of October 31 last year, the BCCI would “initiate legal proceedings in the appropriate forum (identified as the courts of India) against the WICB without further intimation”.
He referred to Caricom’s request for the BCCI to hold off for 40 days on its initial deadline of 15 days.

This claim should only be met, if we can get Cameron's head.

From the pockets of Scum to the pockets of Scum, I hope this is the end of the WICB and the beginning of the CCA. Dave lost his voice when Gayle was on the chopping block hope he regain his vocals, Idiot.

Time that the WICB is disbanded and a Cricket Committee set up in the CARICOM Secretariat to deal with West Indies cricket. I have been calling for this for the longest time now. Dont do it then ! Dont do it ! We can see where West Indies cricket is going with poor administration.

The WICB has been destabilizing West Indies Cricket for too long now and it is time the people of the Caribbean do something about the situation. Examples go as far back as and even before Garfield 'Garry' Sobers. now His Excellency Sir Garry Sobers and as recent as Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo.

Cricket which developed during the dark period of Caribbean development and evolution, seems unable to shake off the legacy of that sordid period that saw Black Caribbean persons reclassified as chattel and treated accordingly. Every action taken by the WICB is supposed to 'improve' West indies cricket. Clearly this is not the outcome and improvement will not happen if the WICB continue with its folly and if the Caribbean populace continue to allow West Indies cricket to falter in the hands of persons who clearly do not have the interest of Caribbean people first and foremost.

How can one expect the Team to do any better when a day before the World Cup begins , you terminated the contract of the Coach who was charged with the responsibility of building a team to the said World Cup and you happily chop and change . How the bingle bangle can Caribbean people sit down and take this crap ? Serves us right though because we refuse to liberate ourselves from the debilitating mentalities of the past and we continue to perpetuate that legacy by our inaction and now that we can sit down behind a Computer and type words on a page somewhere in cyberspace , our propensity to protest , take action and demand justice and fair-play in all spheres of activity have all but diminished. We are useless as a people .

Shall we become enslaved persons again ? Is Facebook and the like facilitating our demise. Will we allow Politicians , Presidents , CEOs, Heads of this, that and the like to continue to rub brown stuff in our mouths and call it chocolate?

Not just Camerons head, but heads of the entire board member who sactioned the move. WI needs fresh minds at all regions and the Political minds should be completely routed out of WI cricket to start fresh.

While faces at the WICB leadership changes, the Administrators in all the regions are the same for years to gather.

Yes. If Caribbean Cricket Association is set up properly as a Profit Corporation, and each island has a Rep, who must submit and campaign for the position, voted on by the cricket loving public.

Not only would it eliminate the slime and back scratching, it would truly make the fans of the game a stake holder with a voice. I would organize and set it up for free. CC.COM can be one of many Voter Registration Stations (VRS).

Corporate Officers would be paid positions with disclosures and heavy punishment for corruption and fraud, again eliminating some of the Slithering Slime from the out set.

Bi-Annually progress reports and reviews would be a must, with two consecutive failures an automatic dismissal. People like Gibson would not waste valuable time and resources.
