Narine will be called during WC2015

WI_cricfan 2015-01-25 19:23:27

Mark my words.

Baje 2015-01-25 19:34:40

Called or reported? Does it matter to his participation in the tournament?

Maybe both.

The WICB is setting themselves up to be embarrassed. Today's game was an embarrassment, it is a shame that his illegal contribution determined the result of a good match.

I've always thought Narine's pelting was fairly subtle compared to many in the game. 40 years ago, we would have no hesitation in saying that his action was "dodgy". These days, who knows? It's obviously a risk but it would not surprise me if he goes through the WC without incident.

When one saw Murali of yesteryear and Ajmal in the last few years....one tended to then accept Philip....it was de new norm.

But suddenly ICC decided to 'clean' up

There is more to it than jus a 'clean' up.....

You have to start somewhere

Narper 2015-01-25 20:54:54

In reply to black

Why allow it for donkey years den have to "start" to remove it?

A whole generation of bowlers are 'born' pelters....that is how they learnt it from kindergarten...you can't change dem now...we will have to wait for another generation to get bowlers again...if ever

And BTW...why are they targeting spinners only...what about the pacemen?

Agreed. It was pretty clear that his arm bends for every delivery.
Now, whether it is withing 15 degrees, we will have to wait for the test results.

Tort Philip was your boy?

Listen people, nothing is wrong with the bending unless it's over 15 degrees. A lot of you guys are thinking about bowling in the traditional sense and what you were taught in the 60s to 80s. They are literally allowed to pelt as long as it's within 15 degrees. Let's hope he's at 14.9 and we are all set.

That is cutting it close.

osrlive 2015-01-26 11:24:33

I am fine with it.......as long as we win the two games he plays in and only if its vs an opponent ranked higher

WE all saw what SA tried against Russell and AUS likes to appeal and sledge too

and IND with dem $$$

only ENG & NZ deems to have the right code of conduct aka de gentleman's game!

Who do you think is going to win?

sunfish 2015-01-26 12:18:37

Narine's elbow looks bent but is he straigthening it on delivery? That was hard to determine from where I sat..

Chrissy's social media and other cyber accounts mussee overflowing wid fans pleading wid her not to mention dere team's name in response to you. Dey all begging her to plead de 5th even if it may not apply.

Close is fine and legal. We don't want his arm to be too straight or his effectiveness will diminish. he will not be able to get the same revs on the ball at the pace he wants. 14.9 and we are good. I don't care if we call it a pelt as long as it's a legal pelt if you know what I mean.

TanteMerle 2015-01-26 13:51:10

Hope dem call Ashwin too.

spider 2015-01-26 14:02:00

can't be called now since he is out of the world cup according to Ramnarine.

I agree.

A certain well known cricketer from Australia made a comment way back and your remark above is on mark.

Can you elaborate for those of us who missed it?
