On your first win as cappo and a very good bowling spell.
Only the second win vs SA in SA in 25 games in that country.
Small steps.

Big PU C magic at work.! Getting rid of the useless Tits was brilliant strategy!

Congrats to you for a refreshing 'no bitchin', 'no I told you so' , no my home boy' post.
I was just thinking that we W. Indians don't have too much practice at celebrating, much better at bitching. We won a game and the response has largely been 'why didn't we win better?'
In reply to Headley
I didn't realise the record was so so bad.
You realise a generation of fans, in particular South Africa fans, have grown up thinking West Indies are Bangladesh.

What happen nuh ?
You not happy for Holder too?
Good win today Russel was fantastic .
In reply to Commie
Happy for the team
The leadership for today's victory was obviously from Sammy
Even Ray Charles saw that
Rolls up in holder's stats and you can't take that away from him nevertheless
I hope this team can pull off more victories- Narine helps a lot with that wish don't you agree dey Comms?
In reply to Halliwell
Holder bowled very well and led from the front.
Let us remember he promised that WI wouldn't be losing like they did last time and they kept their word. That took gonads.
As for Narine, of course he would be a huge addition. He also is at risk and he will weigh it up carefully before putting himself out there for a WICB who will simply move on to the next player.
My take.
Meanwhile Gayle and Smith making all kinds of records.
19.5 average for Gayle since 2013, played 20 matches.
Smith 13 ducks and counting, the second most by any player
with 100 innings and less
I will say that the SA tour is proving that: If one needs to win, one needs to play their BEST SIDE.
We saw that in the 20/20s, where the best WI side (minus Narine & injuries) beat a weakened SA side.
We saw that in the first 3 ODIs, where the best SA side beat a weakened WI side.
In the dead-rubber 4th ODI, two weakened sides met but the Saffies were missing more of their big name players, and this time came up a little bit short.
Btw this was the first win in a ODI vs SA since 2006. 15 losses and one tie.
Lots of best 11s played in that time.

that previous ONE time it was SIX to ONE thanks to a brilliant 150 from your fellow dominican
Last time WI beat SA
Before Holder came to the party.
In reply to Commie
You lie again.
Or you already fuhget de buss-rass SA get in de 20/20s?
The WI hammered SA in the 20/20 series, before resting their players for the last dead-rubber match, thereby allowing SA a consolation win.
The WI under Holder were humiliated for the first 3 ODIs. SA rested their players for the dead-rubber 4th ODI and the WI managed a 10 wicket partnership to squeak past the SA B attack for a consolation win.
That's the reality!

In ODI Cricket, you know...the format that the WC is in, WI last won a match vs SA in 2006.
Now...maybe, just maybe, they are going to play T20 at the ODI WC, but something tells me that aint so.
And we have had 3 5 zip drubbings vs SA in ODIS...all of which had dead rubbers and rested players. But of course you wouldnt remember that.
Yep, but this humiliation will forever be there. Lets hope for a clear cut WIn tomorrow!
