St John’s, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board today announced that Yepme will be the West Indies team sponsor for the Cricket World Cup 2015 in Australia and New Zealand.

“We welcome Yepme to the West Indies cricket family of sponsors and partners for the world’s premier cricket event – the ICC Cricket World Cup,” WICB Commercial Manager Nelecia Yeates said.

“We look forward to a mutually beneficial association as the West Indies team remains one of the most attractive cricket teams in the world and will be one of the favourite teams in the World Cup,” Yeates added.

"We are glad to bring together two great teams, Yepme and the West Indies cricket team. The ICC World Cup 2015 is going to be one of the biggest sports events this year. West Indies, as always will be a strong contender for the World Cup and the event gives Yepme a global platform to showcase their brand,” said Vishal Jaison, co-founder and director of Baseline Ventures Pte Ltd, which represents Yepme.

"We are very excited about this sponsorship with West Indies team in the ICC World Cup. Being the third largest sports tournament in the world which will be seen in more than 182 countries, it’s a huge opportunity for Yepme to strengthen its vision as a global brand,” said Mr. Sandeep Sharma, founder and Chief Operations Officer of Yepme.

“We are definitely looking at this association as a good platform to gain popularity and increase awareness. With a viewership of over one billion in the last tournament, we are expected to get guaranteed exposure making it a very profitable investment," Mr. Sharma added.

Yepme is a Gurgaon, Haryana headquartered online shopping company which specializes in online retailing of men and women’s garments and accessories.

The Cricket World Cup commences on February 14th with West Indies playing their opening match on February 16th against Ireland.

Calling POINT. Seems the worst international cricket board in the world is following your advice and seeking sponsors. I wonder if they got help from the international cricket cabal?

I am thrilled they are part of WI cricket. I first came to know of this company when I visited Gurgaon to purchase a home a few years ago, and it is now my second home. For me it is icing in the cake, my second home is now officially the sponsor of my fav sports team.

A more appropriate sponsor would have been Trojan Prophylactics.

HAVE IT UNTIL THEY LEAVE THE GOVERNANCE OF

CRICKET IN THE REGION . SO THEY AINT OFF

THE FREAKING HOOK .

The reason why they have Yempe as a sponsor for the WC is because Digicel as a telecom provider cannot sponsor them during this event because Reliant is a title sponsor
So for ICC events they get different sponsors, and this never really cause them to improve the cricket from the bottom up
So might have to find a different point to call them out on.

In reply to POINT Thatbis normal in the advertising /sponsoship world. Same type business competitors cant be shwing up as that will be conflict of interest. Yankees sued MLB over Adidas ads versus MLB sponsor and settled for Adidas signs only at Yankee stadium during regular games not the Playoffs.
McDonald sponsors the National HS Allstars basketball every year along with Nike which goves players the sneakers free to ensure no competitors shoes get shown.
However in my opinion WICB should have a multitude of sponsors bog and small, local and international to help their coffers. They sell coke, pepsi, milo, ovaltine eyc locally so Nestle and Coke or Pepsi not boyh shpuld ve WI sponsors on oroducts WI perps would buy. Whetes Nike and Adidas? There I agred with you, not enough sponsor intent by WICB

My take is that if they had a modicum of Vision, they would have hired years ago , a very knowledgeable person whose job would be
to get Sponsors on Board .

It seems to me however , they much prefer planning & plotting what must be done to ensure that remain in the governance of Cricket in the Region , and that their power
is never ever diluted .
Cricket and things pertaining to Cricket
come in a distant second .

I get it, but boy it's weird to have a team sponsorship from a company that doesn't even have a presence in the region.

I totally get you, because there will be no connect to the market in of Caribbean viewers, however from a company point of view they are using the WI brand to target their own market.

What I would like to see next is the targeting of smaller companies for sponsorship in the region.

Really? Maybe in T20 cricket. Definitely not in Test and ODI cricket..that shipped sailed about 15 years ago.

They have to do that probably because in the Region DIGICEL Has them all tied up . This is why the are scrambling for Sponsors Overseas .

Like I stated , the people in the governance of Cricket in the region are devoid of any semblance of Business Acumen .

I had to google to find out who/what the hell Yepme is – now I know……….so will Yepme pay the USD 42 mil WI owes India cricket and get Cameron off the hook or will he be left hanging?

WICB with an Indian sponsor; perhaps soon with an Indian co-owner.

If the BCCI is smart, they would hold WICB to the $42m. If they can't settle, take an equity stake in the WICB, or make them a $42m loan with financial convenants which converts the loan to equity if the covs are breached.

ALL that I am saying is that those in the governance of Cricket in the Region have
absolutely no excuse for sending our Players
to play International Cricket ill prepared
, and not fully competitive .

Most people in this Forum are focused on the
effects of our Players not being fully competitive . I prefer to focus on the causes of our Players not being properly
prepared.

The reason why our Players are not fully competitive in the International Cricket Arena is due to the fact that they are not
playing enough Cricket at Regional level , the highest standard of Cricket in the Region .

In case People are in the dark , the Job
of ensuring that our Players skills in all
Formats of the game , are Harnessed ; Enhanced ; & Honed ,is the responsibility
of those in the governance of Cricket in the Region .

So sane persons can only conclude that those in the governance of Cricket in the Region are doing a very poor Job in this regard .

Most people chose to only look at the effects of the Poor Job that is being done
by the Administrators of Cricket in the Region . Poor Performances by our Players
.
They need to focus on the fact that our Players statistically play less Cricket
than their counterparts on Teams ranked above our Team .This is very important because , it is only by playing a lot of Cricket at the highest level in the Region , can our Players skills in all aspects of the game be improved .

This is compounded by the fact that the WICB has mandated a 1 week Camp which does
very little to remedy the situation . People need to take note of the following facts . The Players are not empowered to
set the duration of matches ; the duration of Camps ; or the number of Warmup Matches
our Players have .


ONLY THOSE IN THE GOVERNANCE OF CRICKET IN

THE REGION HAVE THAT POWER , SO WHEN OUR

PLAYERS FAIL ; & THEY OFTEN DO ; IT IS

THOSE IN THE GOVERNANCE OF CRICKET IN THE

REGION WHO MUST BE TAKEN TO TASK FOR

NEGLECTING TO MAKE OUR PLAYERS PROPERLY

PREPARED .
