This is one of the most arrogant and ignorant actions I have ever seen. These people feel they are so powerful that they can disrupt a World Cup tournament to have a disciplinary hearing. If this doesn't cause people in JCA and other places to wake up and see what this is all about, then there is no hope for WI cricket or the Caribbean for that matter.
In reply to Halliwell
What comments? Gayle makes so many.
In reply to dcbreds
I totally agree. It is why if we the fans and the carefree public cannot dismantle the WICB, then WI cricket may have to be dismantle.
In reply to Halliwell
They are morons.
They already disrupted the World Cup with this substandard squad.
In reply to Halliwell
This is all the doing of the Irish - allyuh wake up please.
Ring ring!!

Dinas on form!
Seriously?.........the more this monkey climb, the more it exposing.........
One step closer to retirement from International cricket.
Do the WICB care about cricket or lining there own pockets?
In reply to Chrissy
They are all shameless educated fools.
This is perhaps the only way to get CG half interested in the WC. Give him a huge chip on his shoulder. Otherwise he would just saunter through WC. Going through the motions. Good move WICB.
He now get the controversy he needs to move into high gear.
Baaadd timing. Poor management skills. And not enough critical thinking..
Amazing more by WICB... Here people are asking why CG has been failing on the field but now there is more reason than not... He is not wanted and he dosent care to try.
I am waiting to see all those people who wanted WI players to come back to WI and then discuss about their Pay disputes... Not sure why WICB cant wait till the WC is over? Amazing leadership. I have a feeling WICB dosent want WI cricket to ever succeed.
Just 1 Series before the last WC the last Management was Playing around with the Team and key players
Now just 1 series before the WC again WICB plays around with the team and 2 Series before they completely change the Pay Structure.
Amazing way to prepare teams for major tourmaments.

I suspect the Director of Cricket is not really impressed with Gayle right now, especially with his recent performances and utterances.
Sending the letter now, is the behaviour of someone who is annoyed. I doubt there are really trying to manage it delicately.
If he doesn't step up, I suspect he will be dropped from the team after the World Cup.
I noticed at last weekend's NBA all star game how aggressively the NBA tried to market its past and current players.
The inept WICB, on the other hand, does everything to marginalize and alienate its most marketable players-both former and current players-then wonder why cricket is a dying sport in the Caribbean.
In reply to don1
For me it is least of my problems if the director of cricket is annoyed or not. But to put his personal preferences before WI cricket is not the right management.
He could very well have taken this case post the WC in the Caribbean.
In reply to jacksprat
WICB seems to get jittery right before every English tour and ICC tours. May be they see lot of money coming in and want to make every effort to remove the Key players to pocket more for them.
In reply to Pacy
Ordinarily I would disagree with your cynicism but not this time!!
They have no sense of occassion. From the Chairman of Selectors tacit admission that this is a throwaway World Cup-"rebuilding" with 32 year old recycled players-to the timing of this it is evident that these jokers in the administration of West Indies cricket just do not care.
If they don't, then why should the players and the few remaining fans?
I have not seen the benifit of Pybus yet.

BINGO
THANK YOU!!!!!
In reply to Pacy
So wait...the WICB should wait after the WC is over, but the players could not have waited until after the India tour to air their grievances regarding the pay cut?
Not that i'm in agreement with this course of action taken by the Board, but you suggestion reeks of double standards, no?
I suspect Gayle won't be in the final 11 today.
In reply to dcbreds
He shouldn't have been in the squad to begin with.
In reply to Devin
You are entitled to an incorrect point of view.
In reply to Priapus
Weren't the players expected to the same for a much more sensible reason? If players can be dropped for that reason what should happen to the administrators for this insensibility?
