Roll call - Grenada Test
In reply to Yamfoot
in for a day or two
In reply to Yamfoot
Not me - I will never waste another airline ticket on Cameron's WICB team. If they show up where I am, I'll go - dat done.
In reply to Yamfoot
Think attendance in Grenada will crack 5000?
In reply to Yamfoot
I might hop over for a couple from TT.
Looks like accommodation tight.
In reply to Commie
Might?
But it's a test match....pinnacle of the game....ultimate etc etc etc
Surely you jest and already have your tickets for all 5 days of this thrilling encounter
In reply to imusic
There are few hotel rooms avail and its tight for flights and its a busy month.
When you going check out IPL or come for CPL or is TV good enough for you.
In reply to Commie
I would if I could but hard to get tickets for sold out events
Grenada sell out already nuh?
In reply to imusic
We will find out from TV. Like you always do.
In reply to Commie
You're right. In addition to providing the visual, TV does provide attendance figures.
Look forward to seeing another sell out test match crowd in Grenada.
BTW....How many National Holidays have they declared for this test match?
In reply to Yamfoot
Unfortunately.....sigh.
Already made an unplanned trip couple weeks ago for a funeral. That has messed up any potential for this trip home.
In reply to imusic
Why would it do anything for you ?
You don't go to cricket full stop and you prove the point that attendance is as much a TV viewing phenomenon as a physical attendance
In reply to Commie
You're an expert on the Brazilian national football team and their coach Dunga in particular.
How many matches have you been to with Dunga in charge?
In reply to imusic
Two games.
Which means what exactly?
I'm a fan..not an expert. I
Have strong views on the teams I follow closely.
I follow Nigeria much more than Brazil for example.
And again...TV is very much part of the modern attendance paradigm. The Pak vs Aus series in Dubai last year played out to empty stadiums and was still deemed a 'success'.
WI cricket is subsidized. Like all cricket outside of the Big 3. Get used to it.
T20 will likely continue to fund Test Cricket for the greater good of the sport, in very much the same way we tax consumption of crap to support the important things in life
Eeeerm, this is a roll call thread. All oonus is supposed to say is
Coming
or
Not coming
Zeen?
Well, I was on the beach in front of a hotel today and few guests. So I asked the GM what happened, cause it is normally busy at this time of year. He said "calm before the storm."
British cricket fans follow their team, especially to the Caribbean. It will be a great atmosphere and I look forward to liming in town in a bar somewhere (it's on my bucket list)
I was planning on been there wanted to see the great Shiv in his farewell series plus the great Devon Smith on the comeback trail.
Once i heard that the Test aficionado and fatty boom boom kyaan mek it ..... mi seh cho dat nuh mek nuh sense
The vendors will be out in full force!
Each spectator will have a personal vendor
scratch that!
it seems each spectator will have at least TWO personal vendors
Wicb should consider hosting a club t20 game before the start of each day's play. Crowd sure will be bigger
In reply to VIX
dey waiting fuh Sudden to arrive he alone can fill a whole stand
In reply to Yamfoot
I shall be there
In reply to Chally1
Are you a resident or you will be visiting?
Crowd doubled in size from yesterday!
at this rate we'll have 50 in the stands tomorrow!
In reply to Yamfoot
Devon Smith would not make it to this ground!!!
In reply to WestDem
They would be crazy to drop him.
If Devon does not come good in the second inning providing there is a second inning - the selectors will have no choice but to drop him, no matter where he is playing.
In reply to TheTrail
Why drop players after one match?
In reply to Yamfoot
Yuh need to apologize to Pondie.
In reply to Cheeks
For why?
In reply to Yamfoot
Will be there for sure
In reply to Yamfoot
Ask him.
In reply to Yamfoot
I will be visiting.
In reply to Yamfoot
Why drop players after one match?
Well - I made that statement because it is a trait of the WI cricket selectors. One never has time to settle into their role. I guess they need instant gratification or out you go.
Ok so all the visitors and others, look out for di I and I. I does walk around plenty (I use it as exercise while I soak up the 'off the field' atmosphere) and you know what I look like, so hail up the I and I. I will have on a thing around mi neck. OK?
In reply to Commie
You get place to stay yet?
In reply to Tagwa1
Him coming?
In reply to Tagwa1
En route to Jamaica now..can't do Grenada.
Yammie..tell your friend I am back.
In reply to Commie
Ok.
In reply to Yamfoot
How is the weather looking like in Grenada this week?
Devon Smith is a legend in the eyes of Grenadians
walk wid umbrellas
I hear that Devon predicted that it would have rained....runs! Man's confidence is sky high...the Pommies are in for a tracing....home field advantage....
In reply to ray
Earlier morning when I was washing my car in the hot sun, it started to drizzle ever so lightly. I thought, nah, no umbrella. By the time I was ready to leave home, it was raining so took it up, only to protect equipment since I have no hair😊
