West Indies in New Zealand Test Series, 2013/14 - Averaged 64. Finished second in averages.

New Zealand in West Indies Test Series, 2014 - Averaged 48.75. Finished fourth. This was just a year ago.

Sir Vivian Richards Trophy, 2014/15 - Averaged 18.20. Second highest was Paint with 36. So the total batting unit failed apart from Samuels.

Against England he averaged paltry 15, But played a crucial knock of 25 to help WI win the third test.

So in effect he had one series in which he was a total failure.. But Big Skunt drops him like that. Wondians are real dumb.. evil evil evil

Shiv's 46 in the 1st innings of the 1st against England...help rescue the WI team after the usual top order collapse...and gave Blackwood the confidence to go on and make a ton

But I am not surprised that Shiv will not be cut any slack...his supporters have said so for years....AS SOON AS SHIV START TO SLIP HE WILL BE GONE !!!!!!

Shiv should have expected it too

Shiv is no fool. He knows that when the history of WI cricket is finally written his name will not be mentioned among the former WI greats unless he leaves his mark as the WI batsman who scored the most test runs.

I believe that had Shiv indicated to the selectors that he planned to retire after the home series, whether he score the 86 runs to surpass Lara and be the only WI batsman to score 1200 test runs for the WI or not, he might have been allowed to retire more gracefully than suffer the ignominy of being unceremoniously dropped.
