So, Burnham is back, EH?

goofballs 2015-05-26 11:38:54

Just back from a one week conference in Toronto and got all the inside scoop. I will indeed put my own spin(a la Narine) on the reported "facts" just to interpret the pulse of the man in the street.
I took a peek here and realized that the Burnhamites are all over the place again with conceit, deceit and ignorance whilst blushing, jumping for joy and yelling out in orgasmic delight as they incur more laundry bills. A compulsion took over to report on the reality (as reported by man in de street) on this international New Nation newspaper, or whatever the PNC publication is called nowadays.
Firstly, this ?QC horsie Granger dude much worser than Burnham. He "rigged" the election even when not in power.
Which ruling party in Guyana would let themselves lose an election? Is stupid dem stupid? I heard about the alleged rigging. Rest is my unplayable spin!
The USA and the Throne at their usual game, to destabilize a poor, struggling country and put out one party. Were drugs involved?
This was de Granger who led the GDF to come into people houses in scores, bruk down doors, tear up mattresses and terrorize the poor villagers?
So, if he did Burnham's bad job, must be much wusser.
Next point

So, what if the elections were not rigged?
Contrary to popular belief (on this board), the African Guyanese vote one way all the time. Just look at polls from Buxton, Lodge, etc.
Some Indian Guyanese are very opportunistic and would sell out their own mothers. So it has been said over the generations. Their votes got the D'aguiar Banks fella UF in, who then colluded with the PNC and the rest is history.
Now, I hear ke two dead rum suckers, drunkards join with PNC and made a difference. Let's see how long they last.

Just like in Burnham's days, now all the spineless ones are falling over themselves trying to kiss Granger's **%$$just for greed.
I can understand begging and even prostitution in dire cases where food needs to be put on the table.
Elections not done yet and two Ministers already trying to jump in front of the line to kiss Granger. Add to that some big industrialist who reaped good harvest before from the outgoing regime.
Add to that Shiv. redface redface
I see names like Tiwari, Nanda Gopal, and a few more Hindu like names. In the past the Muslims were the ones accused of jumping over. Just what I heard. This I seeing with my own two eyes, and it not nice.
Nauseating to see spineless opportunists who don't or can't have a stance.
They should all get the wallaba treatment, just like Shiv. lol
I don't know this Granger fella, but he sounds like he has a mission at least. let us see.
I don't vote in Guyana.
The sickening human behavior, soup drinkers and ass lickers part is my point here.

Now back to politics.
Time for change and all dat is garbage talk.
It is still all about race and opportunists.
I see lots of folks packing up and running back, after the election results, kissing Granger and hoping to get a spot in administration.
If he is any good, he should send dem straight back, with or without wallaba. They are de worst form of humanity.
If it is about unity and all, how come the cabinet looks so?
Yea, there are two sellouts present who were probably promised positions, for now.
Ok, forget cabinet make up for now. Policy and its implementation with freedom to observe culture and religious practices apart from Obeah is important.

goofballs 2015-05-26 15:08:43

As a contrast, I see a Ronald Bulkan is a minister.
Since primary school days, his father, my headmaster, was a devout, open PNC supporter.
Respect! cool

goofballs 2015-05-26 20:32:21

One odda ting I heard from two independent sources who were there.
Jagdeo, I mean Donald, was giving out free fried chicken and people would turn out in huge numbers, irrespective of party or race, with coolers, etc. for a big picnic with loud music.
Yet they voted traditionally.
The issue is my black broddas, unlike many of my type, would remain loyal and not be spineless sell outs.
They will eat the food, however. smile

In reply to Jeremy
so why perpetuate the same behavior?

goofballs 2015-05-27 01:59:27

In reply to Darkness

why does everything have to go back to race?

Because in Guyana, it is all about race. In a somewhat primitive manner, it makes people feel good about themselves only, and the remainder of humanity can go to de dogs.
Looko how some top dogs on this PNC, New Nation, publication carrying on!!
One "aristocrat" and one girl "professor" bawling in orgasmic delight.
It is all about their peeps, their race, winning. Winning what, may I ask?
Oh yeah, "superiority" over others in a popularity contest.
So, one group voted in someone who thieved out de money. Another group got in because they promised they won't be like the PNC of yore, will be all about change and unity, but already showing behavior patterns suggesting of old PNC marketed under a different name now.
In the meantime, whilst getting divided by race, the common man continues to struggle to put food pon table whilst the cheerleaders dance away.
I can only hope they don’t transgress on peoples’ culture and religion again whilst they play the power game.
Primitive, sick!
Good news is, per reports, no one ethnic group had any kind of tension or conflicts about the elections. An air of nonchalance, or learned helplessness?

uton 2015-05-27 02:11:59

No wonder Guyana is a failed state and will probably remain so for the future. With the divisive and archaic "me and me only" mentality an opportunity to get out of the mire will be lost.

We cannot prosper unless we unite and we will continue to perish if we remain divided.

Interesting comment. Much has been made about the Indian vote but little said about the African vote, until now. I wonder why?

I have to read the rest of your spin. In the meantime, here are a couple of questions for you. Do you think the PPP/CIVIC is/was guilty of all the corruption charges leveled against them?

Many of the ministers and high ranking officials carried themselves in a non professional manner so their image as being arrogant did not help. Does the party need overhauling?

My biggest issue, whether black, brown, red or white rule is:
Policy and its implementation with freedom to observe culture and religious practices apart from Obeah is important.

This is the Burnham legacy (lack of).
The fact that he did it out of spite for not getting votes from some section highlights the mentality.
Most are happy when their own wins anything. That is human nature.
The other aspect of human nature: most will be upset and want to do something when their own flagrantly violates others.
In Guyana's case, it is more like joining a bandwagon, us against them, as so vividly reflected here.
Hence my term Burnhamites for those who exhibit such mentality.
Not a voter, but had faint hopes that this fella would be like a mini Rodney or WPA type of neutral party based on ideology, even if just to stop corruption and/or racism.
After studying it for a whole week, I realize:
NOT GONNA HAPPEN.
The two East Indians, apart from reportedly imbibing in rum shops from morning to night, have had issues with their own party and are considered rejects, especially one who leaked party issues to USA embassy and was terminated.
So, they are no stalwart (neutral, qualified, objective, of sound moral character) representation of the other race in this current mix up.

No clue! Haven't gone there but once in 30 years.
I liked it a lot, but realized that regardless of who is in power, the mango, papaya, pine will still taste the same, the breeze and sunshine would not change. Unless bigger global issues take place.
It is no state secret that the few at the top took a lot for themselves!!
I see it, based on reports, more as a mafia run entity with the Lords getting all the returns just for themselves.
Another common criticism is that "abee own" got neglected but he pumped some money in other people area like Buxton to get votes.
"But we have peace and can eat our kind of food."

Too much trouble. The leader must appear much smarter than the rest.
The biggest, most consistent, complaints I heard from truly educated Indo Guyanese was that there was a bunch of dunces, right from the top down.
Some might have had PPP scholarships to Russia. Does not translate, in their minds, as proper education for whatever reasons. "At least Jagan had an earned Doctor in dentistry, not given honorary doctorates (Jagdeo)by friends."

Thank you for what seems to be an honest assessment! I after consulting with Runs via message, decided to show up at a PPP/CIVIC gathering in Queens NY. Some discussion was held on that. Took too long to discipline that foolish minister. That behavior reeked of arrogance and did nothing but enhance an already tarnished image. How men like that were put in prominent ministerial positions is beyond me. Donald Ramouter really came across as a lame duck president and a puppet for Jagdeo. Speaking of Jagdeo, he got his comeuppance when he ran into that rather cute magistrate who humbled his a$$ in court. It appears he was so ashamed that he avoided the independence rally of the PPP/CIVIC.

The party is in a lot of trouble and unless they do some honest soul searching and make wholesale changes, they will not sniff victory in a long, long time.

I agree with your assessment, however like the Windies team, the PPP cupboard is bare. They never attempted to include the best talents in the inner circle, and hence you had a mess at the end.

My concern is only for the betterment for the people of Guyana...and until the social redistribution (violent break and enter/robbery) of predominantly one race exploiting the other without consequence, then I am afraid there is no good to come.

Incidentally Ramjattan's focus will be on WHITE collar crime. Not the violence perpetrated on innocent folks. More of the same from these blow-hards.

Hence my take on the police commissioner who is now the MP in the APNU circle. He is a proven square peg in a round hole...he was outed with a taped conversation with Basil Williams making light of a mass murder, and protecting police misconduct/neglect of duty...and yet nothing...not a peep from anyone.

Don't let one experience taint your views, however me must remain vigilant.

"Good nah deh deh in that Godforsaken, blighted land."

The one common thing seems to be very little racial tension. I saw that even in 2009. My sources are saying no racial problems/tensions during the elections.
Maybe people are smarting up to the fact that they are helpless pawns of the mafia who will play on racial divide, but the masses are not attacking each other, even verbally. Good!
Biggest fear is crime, due to mafia/gov't/drug/poverty and very little prosecution.
Secondly, I say if a sickness hits you, call your chaplain/pandit/moulvi right away!
There is one dear merchant hospital which reportedly gives the best qualified services from specialists.
Was told that can't find a Guyanese doctor after noon unless you go to the rum shop. (I am sure that it does not apply to all. There are a very few good men).
Again this is hearsay.
I went to Berbice and knew a few, even from QC days. I got invited, "Come man we go close down/take over the rum shop after 12, get wan sheep and drink all day long."
If they only knew that half a beer would have me dancing on top of the table, if no willing female species available!
So, discipline is important. Not a health minister who wants to slap and strip females in public.
Even if it takes a Green to straighten out people.
Shoots, did I just say that?
