West Indies will no longer be touring Zimbabwe. While the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) is still looking at other avenues to give the regional side a chance at qualifying for the 2017 Champions Trophy, India is not one of them.

WICB CEO Michael Muirhead told the Trinidad Express yesterday the Zimbabwe tour was definitely off, after Pakistan pulled out of the tri-nations One-Day International series which was scheduled to be played in August.

Only the top-seven sides as of September 30, apart from hosts England, will make it to the 2017 Champions Trophy and the tri-nations series was the only ODI engagement the West Indies had scheduled after the World Cup.

It was reported on Wednesday that the WICB had approached the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to play an ODI series before the cut off date, however, Muirhead said he was not aware of that.

The way I see it he's either lying or he's lost organizational control of the entity he's supposed to be leading. Otherwise he would have stated categorically that the WICB did not approach the BCCI.

BTW I am reliably informed that the Indians elected to bypass Dave and go to your countryman in search of a resolution to the $42 Million matter.

Haven't heard this Walco. But since you are always reliably informed and your pronouncements here have always been on target, I will follow up and report my findings.

That was the case initially, but I have not checked on the matter recently. A cricket solution is the only way out of that mess.

BTW, I was not referring to Julian smile

WE have some really smart people in the governance of Cricket in the Region . They love proving that my assessment of them is absolutely correct .

But I guess when people spend most of their time ensuring that the Structure
remains the same , & their power is never ever diluted. These things will
happen .
