The twin Island Republic might have 2 teams
Tobago may get a franchise in the Caribbean Premier League T20 tournament in the not too distant future.
This is the news from chief executive officer of the CPL, Damien O’Donohoe, who said that the island may soon be joining the elite in Caribbean cricket by having its own place in the premier tournament which ended in front of a packed crowd at the Queen’s Park Oval on Sunday.

Two teams for my T&T 
I have my doubts on this happening due to Tobago not having a Cricket venue that can cater for a CPL type of crowd but let us see what happens

In reply to Acid Tobago - hardly likely. But Trinidad can surely sustain two teams. Pollard, Rampaul, Emrit etc can get back home and form the nucleus of maybe a Trinidad South team.

Barbados gov't was very right in not yielding to the Digicel extortion. Private sector should have ponied up but the biggest conglomerates and the non-Canadian banks in Bim now are Trinidad headquartered so it would again more sense for the sponsors to support a Trinidad-based team.
Only thing to cause Digicel to pause is the fear of a Bajan public backlash and consequent loss of Barbados business. But they need not worry. After the big set of noise about Barbados National Bank becoming Republic Bank it was business as usual within a few days. And when Barbados Shipping and Trading businesses became Massy this and Massy that there was a set of noise but the supermarkets full and Massy in Bim doing better than ever. Noise was made about Pollard too but stands were packed for every match.
Don't worry Digi. Do what you got to do. Bajans and nationalists is an oxymoron.

They looking to own a franchaise.....once things are finalized they will have to give it a name but Trident will not be part of it...........

And Tridents aint got owners... The CPL ppl say they are not looking to add new francises... just shuffle them around.
