HEADLINE: RAMDIN WAS NOT AXED

CaribbeanCricket.com 2015-08-03 06:28:55

Contrary to reports in some circles experienced wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin was not dropped from the West Indies team for the proposed tour of Zimbabwe. According to information reaching CMC Sports, the 30-year-old Test captain was indeed picked in the squad which was due to play a tri-nation series with the hosts (Zimbabwe) and Pakistan. But the tournament was subsequently cancelled after Pakistan withdrew from the originally proposed dates of August 20 to September 3. The matches were to be played in Harare and Bulawayo.

Irresponsible journalism........first reporter should have gone to the source ie a selector.

Is there any code of ethics for journalists in the region?

This guy is like a souped up eric965 if you know that character. Jack Warner would be more impartial.

The other thing is that the timing of the initial article about the supposed axing was so wrong. It came on the same day of the semi final against TT. Could that have affected the result of the game? How was his mindset after reading that article? Or it being brought to his attention?

Silly journalist.

This story first appeared more than 2 weeks ago and the WICB is now just seeing fit to refute it! Hmm Oh well!

"Ramdin was not dropped".. and Holding, Cozier et al were not banned from commentating on West Indies cricket. In the case of Holding he is just 'unavailable".

"Bravo & Pollard were not dropped"; West Indies just "re-builing'(ignore, if you will, the fact that they are re-building with someone like the 32 year old Nikita Miller who is older than both Bravo & Pollard!)

When All is said and done ... he should be axed for his continuous no show in front of the stumps.

This is the guy who told Andrew he did not have the full squad, he only knew the QP guys that was not selected, he is the same guy that spoke and wrote on India, West Indies negotiating for ODI.

When there is a false report it has to be refuted quickly so that it does not become a major issue. Surprised that WICB took soooo long to refute the article.

However, this new report was by CMC, not the WICB.

Perhaps WICB does not want to play things out in the media?
