KINGSTOWN, St.Vincent, CMC - Dominica took first innings points from St.Vincent and the Grenadines to retain the senior Windward Islands cricket title at the Arnos Vale Playing Field here on Wednesday.
St.Vincent and the Grenadines, replying to Dominica’s 232, were dismissed for 205 just before tea on the rain-affected second day in the final round of matches.
Sunil Ambris led the charge to overhaul Dominica’s total with a top score of 48 but Shane Shillingfored and Kevin James combined for a five wicket haul between that stifled the homeside’s run rate.
Resuming from an overnight 88 for three, SVG were never allowed to settle in the face of tight bowling spells from Shillingford and James.

The 4 Cricket Boards in the Windward Islands need to stop this asinine Farce , and have the Windward Islands Tournament have a duration of 4 days .

outlined how they can get Sponsors &
Funds to have the tournament once
again have a duration of 4 days .
It is very , very disturbing , that
the Windward Islands Tournament which had a duration of 4 days , has regressed into having 2 days .
Generally things progress , as time
goes by , but the Windward Islands Cricket Board has regressed over time .That is totally unacceptable , worse yet , there are people from the Windward Islands in this Forum , defending this B.S .
As I have stated elsewhere , all the members of the 4 Boards , decided to
sit on their Asses , because power & contempt , prevented them from thinking outside the box in trying to
get funds to increase the duration of the Windward Islands Tournament .
Perhaps this has been learned from those in the WICB ; who have nothing but utter contempt for the Players .
Like those in the WICB , the members of the Windward Islands Cricket Board
believe that self preservation & ensuring that their power is never diluted are more important than the Players .
It is this asinine thinking why currently our Players in the longer
versions of the game are Bottom Dwellers .
Sadly , those in the governance of Cricket in the Region do not care about Cricket in the Region . They only care about themselves .

BTW , ONLY if 4 innings were played , can the term Beat be used . YOU just cannot play only 2 innings wearing whites , and talk about beating anyone ; Obviously using the word Beat is
exceedingly misleading .
