Why doesnt LARA contribute more to regional

allan 2015-08-31 15:26:29

cricket..

1) Taking charge of TTCB or contributing in a meaningful way
2) Assisting with the development of the WICB under 19 and 23 cricketers
3) Assisting the current captains of senior test and ODI teams.

What is he doing from day to day? the cricketing region needs his help...

problemjay 2015-08-31 15:31:53

See I can tell you are not aware of Lara contribution to the young ones. Lara have stage many youth clinics in recent years.

Here is his previous one

.

In reply to problemjay

come on, he could do much more that that... staging youth clinics ..
what about the taking charge of TTCB, and helping to manage or coach the Under 19s/23s

but wait hold on ah minute! Not every great player will be a great coach or great administrator, or would have the desire to be either. You can't just put all the pressure on one man to come and save a sinking ship. Every retired player would fit in differently into the bigger picture.

POINT 2015-08-31 15:49:37

The Question is this : Has Lara been asked by the Trinidad & Tobago Cricket
Board ; or the WICB ???????

allan 2015-08-31 16:23:57

In reply to POINT

if you love the game and the region, you don't have to be asked?
come forth and help.. especially in these dire times

soloview 2015-08-31 17:24:07

Maybe because of the lack of gratitude by his fellow West Indians. Lara has obvious short comings but he loves cricket and West Indies... however when ever he was outspoken , made judgement calls or even made personal sacrifice with regards to West Indies cricket he has been severely targeted. I suggest he is very "gun"shy.

It's almost impossible

In reply to allan

It is quite possible that had he been given a send off like Sangakara , he
would not have had to be asked .

So please inform me , of Players that you know , who were given a great send off by the WICB ; when they retired from representing the Region .

lol lol lol lol lol lol

Lets see what the poster is asking for: Mr. Lara walks in the TTCB office- "takes over" presumably by force, then dictate to all involve cricket- this is the entire country's cricket fraternity, to do as he say.

I wish Redb aron were here to give you
an appropriate response.

Maybe having Shah Ruk Khan involved with TT Red Steel will bring Lara out, kinda like when Sir Allen Stanford had his "legends" on the payroll.

Do you want Lara to volunteer his service or should he make a living?
Point, Stanford board worked for him, they were well paid.

allan 2015-08-31 21:44:55

Lara is respecte by all, especially by the trinis he must make a bigger contribution even to trini cricket

The game and the region has given him so much, why cant he look to help more now

So the WICB can pay Lara & others for their services . Oh , I forgot , the
WICB not only has no money , it is facing a proposed 42 million dollars
due to is Recklessness .

stop talking shit! has he refused any request for help? even if Lara can do something for free these guys would pay their friend to do the same.

What is wrong with you? What world are you living in? Not this West Indies with cricket mismanaged by this corrupt, egocentric set of WICBandits.

Where was it indicated that TTCB or WICB has an opening that he can fill? Is he just supposed to walk in off the street and say "I am here?" Brian Lara is helping cricket by holding clinics not just in Trinidad but in various countries worldwide.

The TTCB and WICB are both political bodies and maybe he isn't ready to play those nasty games as yet.

allan 2015-09-01 10:21:12

listen folks
if LARA comes out and says he wants to assist TTCB or WICB
, both bodies will be forced to make way for him.. He has that power and love within the region as well as people figure that he has the know how to do a better job than many of the existing coaches/managers/selectors or even directors

Halliwell 2015-09-01 10:34:07

In reply to allan

Like you forget allyuh favourite chorus

" no player is bigger than the game"
And the WICB certainly own the game after Wavell sold up

BS mate
LARA has great capital... and he should make a bigger contribution

Why do you want the cancer near WI cricket again? Isnt WI cricket much better since he left? Afterall he is a selfish individual who was all about his own fame?

Just a few years back Ramnarine, Ganga, Harper, Walsh all wanted to be part of the system and were kicked out by the System.

Can you name one cricketing body, that can employ Stanford's board, and pay them the same amount of money?
What role should Lara be offer in regional cricket?

allan 2015-09-01 12:46:25

In reply to Pacy

the man has a wealth of knowledge ( as a former captain and leading batter).. He most certainly can help the youngsters ( kraigg, Hope, Dowich, Jason and Ramdin).. .

allan 2015-09-02 11:59:58

did I say that natty?
I said he needs to contribute more; in the role of a coach, manager, selector or even board member (TTCB)

Look the WICB & the Regional Boards , love to trumpet to all & Sundry that they are Private Entities , never mind the fact that aint exactly True .

It would therefore in my humble opinion , be presumptuous of Lara , asking them to allow him to help Cricket .

The point I am making is that it aint
Lara who needs helm is dem dat need help . Therefore the onus in my opinion is for them to ask him , not the other way around .

The question that must be asked and answered is this :

DOES THE WICB HAVE AN AMICABLE

RELATIONSHIP WITH MOST FORMER GREAT

PLAYERS ??????????????????????

He acts as a mentor to the Trinidad and Tobago cricket teams at all levels and assists all who approach him. He, however does not do it in front of cameras and is assisted in this to ensure his privacy and that of those who seek him. His biggest asset was his ability to get in the moment and separate himself from everything but cricket and this is what he tries to help cricketers to do. Some absorb the lessons others....

Lara have more important duties, now he is in the PNM corner, and it may be the first steps into politics, maybe a Prime Minister in 10 years.
