..sure this is not new news to most people. But when I see these type of Facebook posts with the type of comments as well that certainly reflect what the masses are thinking on the ground there is no doubt that in less than 20 years the majority of the population will be mixed. I believe currently there is 23% who declare themselves mixed. Interesting future for T&T

In reply to Jabari18
Mississippi Masala!
TT Masala!
Don't have the same ring to it,but that won't stop the tapestry from being weaved,in time, all in time.
In reply to Jabari18
Pelau is right
In reply to problemjay
But Pelau is an East Indian word- in fact it is an Indian dish consisting of rice cooked with other things- mainly vegetables.
Now, a better Trinidad name to properly identify with race mixing should be sought.

Some people see beyond skin color. People are more concerned about unity and patriotism than skin color

Doh leh Jah Jah hear yuh say dat,he go call dat "ethnic clensing".
I have never forgotten the story of the mix up of babies in TT,where an Indian mother was given an Afro baby, and the Afro mum was given an Indo baby. Both parents accepted the babies as their own, without questioning it.They treated the babies as their own.The Indo mother had Afro blood through her grand parents and the Afro family had Indo blood through their grand parents,so they just thought everything was ok,it was only when the hospital found the mistake did they know, but both sides loved and cared for their non biological babies as their own.
As they say,"only in Trinidad".
In reply to granite
Was this the norm, since I heard stories of Indians disowning their children and even killing themselves for being with blacks.
Ok, goodbye Brian, Rowley, James , Eric , Sparrow.

tc1 worry about what the colorisim issue and the color pigment issue in your native island or how Uncle Sam shooting down and marginalizing the minority black population if you live in America. If Trinidadians want to nation build and see beyond something as simple as skin color then I am in full support
