A GREENHORN cricket team including several players who have not yet played first-class cricket is plotting to embarrass the once great West Indies.
Tour matches for visiting international teams are these days generally half serious affairs, designed to give the touring team some match practice before Test matches.
Results are almost irrelevant — but not for the rookie Cricket Australia XI which will take on the West Indies in a four-day match starting on Wednesday at Brisbane’s Allan Border Field.
CA XI captain Jimmy Peirson, an up and coming Queensland wicketkeeper, wants to take down a Test playing nation.
And the CA team is probably a decent chance of beating a largely anonymous West Indies team without the likes of Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo and Darren Sammy.

Dem should send their women team to play the warm-up.
and right now WI scrambling at 35 for 2, Braffit just out.
It looks like they will be embarrassed, 93 for 5, Holder needs to back up his words and stand up to this situation.
This team needs more than one practice match, this is bad, especially against players who are just starting to play F/C cricket.

Windies make 154-6 at stumps...not the most impressive start to the tour. Not one half-century from the bunch of them...Kraigg out for 21, Chandrika for 10, Samuels for 19, Blackwood for one, Ramdin for a duck, and Holder for 26. At least Lil Bravo is 49 not out....
I'd say, mission accomplished....
