WI have not scored in excess of 260

analyst-kid 2015-12-01 09:52:32

in the last TEN innings since the Second Test vs Eng ....the last respectable score was 307. They have barely scraped past 250 WITH ONE SCORE OF 251

Since then:

189
194 vs Eng...where the bowlers won that test for them

148
216 lost to Aus

220
114 lost to Aus

251
227 lost to Sri Lanka

163
171 lost to Sri Lanka after AGAIN the bowlers put them in a winning position

HOW CAN WE BE COMPETITIVE WITH SUCH WEAK BATTING?...WE CAN ONLY HOPE IT CAN IMPROVE

Good question.
We used to talk a lot about balance and how x any y player or players throw off the balance of the team.
But something else to note is that we barely ever come good with both batting and bowling in the same innings.
Do I wouldn't put it down to just poor batting as a team but overall poor team.

Mr Holder... you're response to questions about any opposition going forward should be something to this order.

"The West Indies as a unit has not been able to deliver positive performances for sustained periods in matches. While we do our necessary homework on the opposition our primary focus will be on our game and our ability to deliver more consistent performances over longer periods in matches."

Btw, it might be how the questions were asked, but all he spoke about in the interview was about WI bowling. Our bowling is OK... our batting needs to be the focus. How do we get to 250+ runs per inning consistently. (Yes 250).

The lack of these two things being reflex answers in an interview tells me that WI coach and management does not have the right message embedded in the player's mind.

of course Dwayne bravo and pollard would allow us to make 500 runs each game..

...but there is no Bravo or Pollard ....so you will just have to be satisfied with sub-2 hundreds.

Just looked at the tour party batting......oh dear we will lose every test very big.

96/5 in the tour match...the batting woes continue.....THEY must try someone new....why is Dowrich STILL out the lineup?

In reply to analyst-kid Good question, why wasn't Dowrich given the practice, Ramdin is already familiar with playing in OZ.
