Will make a regional team upon return? I think they all can't do worse than the current lot.
Who thinks they're good enough to be a stand alone team in the 4day competition?

How many of the WI U19 team
In reply to CricketLuva4
I don't think they should look at this as an option...I think WICB should form an emerging team to compete in the 4 day competition....age limit of 21 and under....it will create competition fuh spots and at the same time develop their talent....is after their U19 days to the senior level is where we lose quality!
In reply to WestDem
I was thinking the same thing, albeit U23.
If you look at the 2014 U19s, only Motie and Pooran (albeit t20) have done anything noteworthy afterwards.
In reply to WestDem
they need to form a development league first, the only one of these guy that is ready to move up a notch is Joseph
In reply to WestDem
Going back to my question.
Joseph will make the Leewards, and that's all I can say with great certainty.
Hetmyer has been in and out of the Guyana team.
In reply to WestDem
Gomes wanted to keep his U-19 team together, most of the coaches wanted to keep this age group together
We still need adequate facilities with coaches and trainers and a program in each Island.

The guy that Mankad the Zimbabwe batsmen
He is the smartest of the lot for sure.
If not for him nobody will be talking about the under 19 team today.
we are the only cricket nation in the world that would place an u19 team in a fc competition.
these guys belong in a development league period.Maybe 1 or 2 may be fast tracked.
In reply to tc1
That make sense to me.
Roddy Estwick on Midwicket, we don't have programs in place to help with all cricketers development and progress.
We just do not have any programs in place or facialities in most of the Islands, to assist these youngsters
In reply to tc1
Australia have a U23 in their domestic competitions.
In reply to CricketLuva4
Are these U-23 contracted players and what program is afforded them?
In reply to CricketLuva4
not playing at the highest level, not for the Sheffield cup
In reply to openning
i am doutfull the u 23 are playing in the Sheffield cup which is at the state level
Hetmayr I must admit, I'm not impressed by him. He looks like another Chandrika to me. But here are the ones I have some hopes for:
Shamar Springer - averaged 57 with the bat, and took seven wickets with his pace.
Keemo Paul - averaged 41 with the bat, and took seven wickets with his pace.
Gidron Pope - averaged 38 with the bat, and seven wickets with his spinners.
Alzarri Joseph - took 13 wickets with his pace.
Chemar Holder - took five wickets with his pace at an ER or just 3.03.
Ryan John - took six wickets at an ER of 3.73 with his pace.
These are the six players who need to make the transition in FC cricket....

I actually think Hetmeyer is a good prospect as well.
In reply to mikesiva
I think that Paul will be a genuine #5 or #6 test batsman.
If Holder tries to bowl too fast with that action, he will chuck. He is 17, I think they need to tinker somewhat with his action now.
Mr. Joseph looks like a man among boys.
Springer can be a genuine Andre Russell type all rounder
I need to see more of the others to comment.
In reply to Baje
i think Paul could be that Andre Russell type but lets see
Carty will play for Leewards of course.
He has the potential to score big if he manages to overcome his obvious nerves early on.
In reply to doosra
paul is too elegant to be a Russell.
