Nice test match, beautiful pitch offers help to the bowling. Batsmen are digging in now as it is not seaming as earlier. Beautiful ground, I will like to visit NZ someday.

Smith fell in the last half hour, but Usman Khawaja is there batting on a fluent 57 along with Adam Voges, who should be listed as bowled Doug Bracewell (off whom Smith was dropped) but umpire Illingworth ruled it as a no-ball when it was clearly not

Runs 2016-02-12 19:29:45

Khawaja's 4th test century.
Born in Pakistan, Khawaja moved with his family to Australia when he was a young boy, and in the 2011 Sydney Ashes Test became the first Muslim to play for Australia. Batting at No.3 in place of the injured Ricky Ponting, he made 37 and 21 and showed impressive poise, giving Australia a ray of hope in a series that had brought them little but doom and gloom. A classy left-hander in the languid style of David Gower, Khawaja won further Test opportunities .

Boult to Khawaja, out Lbw!! That has been given out and it is the big fish. Khawaja does not review this lbw decision. He looked plumb to the naked eye and reviewing it would have only wasted the review. Coming to the dismissal, it was a length delivery that came in with the angle to the left-hander, Khawaja wanted to turn it into the off-side off the back foot, the ball swung in late and hit him on the back leg, it was hitting him right in front, the bowler appealed and keeper joined, making the umpire to raise his finger in a flash. A good innings from Khawaja comes to an end. New Zealand will be delighted to see his back. Khawaja

It is amazing that someone of his Cricket age is doing these performances, he is certainly making up for lost time. Could the WI find anyone like him?

Acid 2016-02-13 09:55:31

Nice thing is the Australian selectors persisted with him even though he is closer to 40 than 30 years

Narper 2016-02-13 10:00:16

Mike Hussey started late too and was called Mr Cricket

Voges must be called Dr Cricket
