Honestly.....they should drop Narine for playing windball cricket. That is just plain assness on his part.

I will bite.

Last time he played was end of last year. He played since?

The radio show on I95.5 reported that he was on TV playing windball cricket THIS WEEK.

The host confirmed that this is a known fact and several people have spoken with Narine advising against doing so yet he continues to play windball cricket.

The host said Narine is not a little boy...he's a big man and makes his own decisions....but he strongly disagrees with this course of action by Narine. I agree.

Assness

To answer the question of whether he played since the end of last year....he has played for his club team Queens Park during his rehab

Whats the danger of playing windfall cricket?

camos 2016-02-11 19:48:36

In reply to spider

lots of pelting because the ball does not bowl well.

FuzzyWuzzy 2016-02-11 19:51:41

In reply to doosra

Because that's where he developed the knuckle ball and pelting. If he plays it he might lapse back into pelting

doosra 2016-02-11 19:51:44

or dem realise dem on the edge by not reading the contract?

We have a situation in Trinidad football where there is a so called Professional League.

There are also various Community leagues around the country which routinely draw more crowds than the Pro league.

These community leagues range anywhere from 11 a side to 5 a side with no offside. And they're qite popular.

We have players, not just in the Pro League....but also on the National team....that have played in these Community leagues and that causes issues.

What if they get injured while playing in these leagues. Who compensates the Pro League team paying the player's salary?

So....any player caught playing in these leagues is disciplined. Either suspended, fined, or both

The point is......you don't see Wayne Rooney playing pro 5 a side football for his village team. It just won't happen. Not only won't it happen....it's not tolerated.

The same should apply with Narine here.

many made the assumption here that you were thinking he'd resort to some bad habits big grin

hence the taping

FuzzyWuzzy 2016-02-11 20:12:31

In reply to doosra

In Barbados we always bowl the windball

spider 2016-02-11 20:30:06

In reply to FuzzyWuzzy

Is the knuckle ball you talk about the same as the knuckle ball in baseball?

Commie 2016-02-11 20:38:09

Narine needs to go back to his roots to get his variations right.

I support this move wholeheartedly.

Trini to d shoulder.

FuzzyWuzzy 2016-02-11 20:44:55

In reply to doosra

Narine himself said in an interview that's where he developed the knuckle ball and he did say they pelt in windball cricket

doosra 2016-02-11 20:50:04

Same in Guyana

What if he pulls a calf muscle while having sex?

tc1 2016-02-11 22:57:37

When I play back in the day, I was the hardest pelter especially on the beach

You do know there are pro athletes that have lost their multi million contracts because they got injured indulging in activities that were deemed to be "dangerous" such as skiing, playing recreational rugby etc

True, but isn't that unavoidable? Don't the players travel in cars or go to bars, for example?

Is the game a product of the players, or the players a product of the game? Sunil is the player he is because of windball cricket. If that is his "temple of peace" and source of fortitude, why try to deprive him of it - especially when he obviously enjoys it?

Nemesis 2016-02-12 07:08:33

The ICC was going haul dem ass up if they didn't sign. Try that shit again and get the ban hammer!!! evil
